Topic Dog Boards / General / Clippers - advice please
- By Sharon McCrea [gb] Date 02.12.02 16:17 UTC
Megan wolfhound hates being groomed so sedate and clip her every so often. I went to do it today and discovered that my clippers were dead. (Fortunately tested them before giving the ACP).

I don't want to spend more than I have to because the only dog I use them for is Megs and she is an old lady. But clippers are handy things to have I'd rather pay a bit more for something I can use than get junk. The old clippers weren't fantastic and I couldn't get new blades for them (they clipped far too short). Can any of the groomers advise on what to get and where to get it please?

Have a look [link http://www.champdogs.co.uk/cgi-bin/board/topic_show.pl?tid=14578&hilite=clippers#98558]here[/link] for a recent thread on clippers Sharon. It depends on your budget but if I could afford it, I would buy a pair of the Laube clippers Gwen recommended - for the moment, I'm quite happy with my Wahl pair(just don't buy the pet ones they make!) Go to Diamond Edge for a look at what's on offer & how much they cost

Sharon
you will probably find that Oster get a bit hot on a big long job like meg...from experience I have found the wahl/Moser (same thing!) ones stay cooler for longer, plus they are cheaper. suggest you look at Peasridge www.peasridge.co.ukand opt for the KM1 model.
