does anyone know if i can get a refund if the scheduled judge has been replaced at a ch. show??? just been told on grapevine that our manchester judge has been changed, although I have yet to see anything official. (which seems odd). Anyone know if i can apply for refund?

Never heard of that except in the case of the replacement judge being disqualified from judging your dog ( breeder/handler)

No you can't.
This happened to me a couple of years ago at Paignton, I had entered 3 dogs & the judge had changed before the entries had closed & I still couldn't have my money back. I knew the replacement judge wouldn't like my dogs & she didnt!!!!

Same happened to me at GBAS last year.......at least I saved the diesel costs!

I think not Sam, which always seems unfair to me as you enter under the judge for their opinion, not for the fun of travelling to the show. :(

Having said that we went under a change of judge once and got the CC!!!!

It depends on what the schedule says. Most do not allow a refund. At least if you know in advance you could save the petrol. Whilst it is still a rumour I wouldn't worry too much.

i was vtold that you can go under judge on the day if change occurred on that day What if youd traveled 200 miles to get there only to find out when you got there would nt you be a bit p***** off

\you can go under the breeder of you dog if they turn out to be the change of change.

I believe the rule states, you cannot enter under the breeder of the dog, We will call her mrs smith

Youve entered a show under mrs jones, mrs smith is the replacement, but as you entered under mrs jones its ok !!

Yes, if there is a change of judge, dogs that have been bred by the new judge are eligible. they do not have to withdraw. there was a case in one of the dog papers last year, where the replacement judge gave BOB to a dog she had bred at a championship show.

I would have thought most would withdraw as a matter of ettiquette(sp?), I know I would. But then I have been showing long enough to know some don't have the principles that I do!!

I would withdraw but I'd be pretty gutted if I had driven several hundred miles to find out that a replacement judge was the breed of my dog.

I wouldn't go to the show if I knew before I left home that the breeder of my dog was a replacement judge. However, If I got to the show, and found out at the last minute, I would still go in my class/es.
