Yes, I got a pair for Christmas, and cannot understand why I have never had them before lol...

They have stretchy side insets (not elastic) and are very comfy and super warm.. I only need one pair of socks, with my wellies I need 2pairs... I have rarely had them off in this weather, super grip on the snow (not so much on the ice, but nothing really is)

Had them, loved them...and unfortunately discovered that I am higly allergic to the neoprene they are made of :-(

They are excellent for chunkier calves because there is a great deal of stretch in the neoprene.  And, as Kay says, they keep your feet toastie in all weathers.  For grip, the Derwents (and variations on them) have the best sole.  I also had the Ribble ones and they had very little grip at all and were absolutely lethal on wet grass, nevermind snow and ice!

I have some and they are so far brilliant.  I got some muddies a couple of years ago that are similar and the split within 3 months so as long as these last then they will be the best boots I've ever had.  So warm and toasty and really really comfortable.

I wouldn't say they are particularly wide in the calf - I'm a size 8/10 and a size 5/6 in foot size and I got them in a 6 so I could have extra socks if needed and they aren't particularly wide on me, but they are stretchy material so maybe in that sense they maybe good for a wider calf.  I got mine from a saddlery so It'd be worth finding a local stockist and trying some on :-)

I got a pair as my wellies kept splitting, they are very comfortable and warm, certainly will be sticking to them!
I have a pink pair, very fetching!!!

Yes I have 2 pairs and they are great. As someone with 'wide' calves they are easy to get on & off.

Took a pair to Antartica in 2007 and they are fantastic now we both (his 'n' hers) have them cant recommend them enough, they pull over socks as well. One minus point I have bad knees so pulling them off can be a chore as they cling on well. OH serves as a boot taker offer or I almost pull my knee out of joint but toasty warm.

Ooohh - where from? I've been searching the net all morning looking up Muck boots, (being of the sturdy calf clan), but I couldn't find pink ones.

I was desperate to get another pair after my old ones eventually wore out & told the lady in the tack shop size 6 any colour, thinking she'd come back with green or blue, out she came with the pinky brown, matches my waterproof mac!

Just to reiterate what ShaynLola has said, for grip you need the Derwent variety. I'm not sure if they do those in all the flashy colours. The normal ones have no grip whatsoever (I have some in the cupboard, only used a couple of times, but I slid across the mud/grass in those).

derwent it is then many thanks

I'd second the Derwent ones-I had them last time but opted for the Tay this time round. Don't get my wrong, the anticlog sole is amazing, and I find they're more supportive (sprained both ankles last year so a bit weak sometimes) than the Derwent, but they're crap on ice-I got stuck on a massive patch of ice last week and every time one foot moved, the other one slid in the opposite direction! I was there almost 10 minutes fumbling round. My crocs are best for ice, but I end up with soaking wet feet! And yes, Muck Boots are toastie warm!

I run a saddlery and we have now decided to change over from the tack muck boot to the derwent due to the slippy soles!!
Derwents only come in black & green I think, but they are sooo warm.
They have now introduced a great kiddy boot in pink and blue!
