can anyone tell me wheather the A66 between penrith & brough  in cumbria is open or not due to snow or ice, i cant seem to find any info

sorry can't answer our question, but see you are in Carlisle. What is the snow like up there, hoping to go to Keswick for a new coat tomorrow.

there is about an inch of snow in carlisle so guess there could be more in the lakes, because carlisle is surrounded by hills they usually take most of the snow which means then its usually bad in the lakes....
where are you traveling from again

Hi Only travelling from just south of Preston, so we will be coming straight up the M6. Had also hoped to have a bit of a walk at Grizedale on our way back.

there is a contraflow in place between j 39 & 40 m6 i think, dont forget ya walking boots... ha ha
