Puppies move; they twitch and jerk and squirm. Once you've felt it it's unmistakeable.

Ive got to admit i cant feel movement !

ive never been able to feel pups lol well i can once ive seen them moving and their little bones are tring to rip out lol :) x

Me and my son are baffeled ! Last night daisy was lying down on the rug in front of the fire when i looked at her she had a "lump" a very distinctive "lump". But it was positioned at the side of her, like it was on top of the rib cage towards the spine ! ! I asked anthony to go and look closer (if id have looked she would have got up for a cuddle) he could actually put his hand on it and make a grip over it ! ! ! It was very strange. She got up bout 2 min later and it had gone and ive not seen it since ! Ive took a couple of pictures but i dont know if i can put them on to show you all i will try later on . But does anyone know what it was ? Could it have been a pup ? xxxxxx

theres nothing eles could make a lump like you say :) right what im thinking is! what if she s only having 1? or maybe 2? when the time comes she may not be able to go into labour her self? maybe you need to know theres more then 1 now lol ,when my girl had small litter (4) i could feel lumps (pups) lol but this girl couldnt feel anything and shes had 8 ....but u sure it wasnt under rib cage ? xx

Im pretty sure it was above the rib cage. Ive just checked pics again and it does look like its above. Can you put pics on the site ? Iwould love for you to see them.

One of my girls had a singleton a couple of years back, we didn't see or feel anything, in fact I was so certain she had missed, I didn't get her checked by our vet until the day she 'should' have been due, and was totally shocked to be told there was one pup....one very big pup, this was on the Friday, I was told if labour hadn't started by Monday, then she was booked in for a c-section.  Sadly no labour and a healthy 1lb 2oz little girl was born by c-section......which is pretty big for a cocker spaniel!  But definitely no signs what so ever, no weight gain, and no signs ie. more sleepy, strange eating etc.

Hi everyone jut thought id up date you all ! My baby will be 8weeks today ! But she isnt restless she isnt nesting shes not taking herself of anywhere, she is very very clingy with me still following me everywhere even to the bathroom ! And if im in the bath she just lies outside the door waiting ! She seems a little more tired and her stomach is stil very hard,my boy is still trying to lick her and was constantly following her moves yesterday so we had to put him in the kitchen as she was starting to get a little upset with him ! I can not see any movement in her stomach area. Shes not eating properly just nibbling. So i just sit and wait. Miracles do happen i know they do, and if our miracle does not happen this time i know it will next time ! Happy xmas to you all and a fantastic new year . And hopefully the next time im on here i will be able to tell you some more ! xxxx

hi jenny im having the same problems as you and shes acting the way she did when she had her first litter had mine to the vets today and she said she couldnt see any puppies so im still hoping and mine is 47 days today.so iam just going to wait till her due date and see what happens.but i do know how you are feeling and its very dissapointing.

Hiya kevin its really hard going isnt it. The thing that is throwing me at the moment is her tummy, yes its firm to touch and yes i can feel something in there seems to be lying across her length ways but i cant commit to the word babys, ! And what else is nagging at me is if shes not then how the hell did i get her dates wrong to mate? Im 99% certain i got the correct day/timing right. That is deffenately hard to understand and deal with ! I wiil keep a look out for your updates and wish you all the luck in the world ! xx

Im in work and the place is very very quiet, all watching Alan Carr Xmas Special ! So ive had time to think,Daisy lovesss the settee and curling up with me but over the past few days she has been getting off and sleeping behind the settee,its that unusual that my oldest son made a comment the other day and he does not notice anything ! Is this a sign of "restless" ? Also when i touch her stomach she has started trying to slightly move away or wakes up and turns to look at me as though she is telling me to get off. Or just freezes. Just i saw a post on here which mentioned exactly the same and they put that down to being restless. Well not long now and i find out either way and you know what i will be glad when its all over ! And i can try to get back to being a Wife and a Mum as well as being my babys mum and get my life back on track to a point ! Hehehe.

hi everyone. well we are now on day 56 ! And nothing so far no signs of an impeding labour, nothing. i know i still have a week to go !

Hiya everyone i hope you had a nice xmas. Well my girl is now on day 57, this morning she was lying on me so i had a little feel of her stomach and it felt firmer than it has ever done. As i had a litlle wander rond her tummy i can defenately feel lumps ? I try to follow the outline and im imagining all sorts like "hmm feels like a leg " "hmm feels like a bum " ect ect. But i can not see movement i think ive felt movement well 1 min the "lump" is there, next its gone or moved slightly. She is still eating and drinking has not shown any signs of nesting just very very clingy, getting moody with my male, growling at him when he trys to come near me and her ! But what i want to know is is it possible in the stomach area to feel around the nipples heading towards the back end i could be mistaking these "lumps" for her bladder or some other organ. I have checked all my books and it just shows the bladder more towards her bum. Hope you can help. Jenny.xxx

I have just read this topic from start to finish again and note that you have had Daisy scanned a couple of times with no evidence of pups,yet you still think she may well be in whelp.If Daisy is the breed mentioned on your profile you really need to be certain one way or the other.I am in Noth Cheshire,if you want to bring Daisy over I am happy to scan her for you and we can have a good look around together and just to be 100 % run a Relaxin pregnancy test.(Obviuosly there is no charge to yourself)(Admin I am not advertising-just concerned re Daisy)
We can scan her in the house rather than in the surgery so as not to stress her out .The offer is there if you need it

Hiya everyone ! Well this morning i was getting ready to ring Paris and organize the scan i was talking with my friend about the kind offer she had given me when my friend said she would come with me to my own vets to hold my hand while my baby got scanned again, ( hubby works from 6am till gone 6pm ) so i did this. So the answer was still the same as 28day scan No Babys she must be having a very good phantom was the reply ! !  ! So thats it  "I throw the towel in" ! Im ok everyone, ive not cried or sulked or racked my brain, my notes, my books nothing to see where i got it wrong, theres no point, ive had my breed for more than ten years now and this was my first attempt,the odds where that i would fail first time, but i will learn from my mistakes and i will get it right next time ! The thing im upset with now is that my breed is an expensive breed and my area is being over run with them from people no sorry "scallys" who are buying them to breed to make money so they dont have to work, they are obviously on benifits, they have from 4 to 8 of my breed all girls and are alternately pregnant through the year ! How the hell do they get away with this ? And i question who is buying them? Also do they not see all the dogs and think ? I know this because i see there adverts all the time every month always a new litter, in the summer just gone i saw 2 young lads no more than 20yr walking my breed and you no what they were both girls ! They obviously did not work, so how the hell did they afford to buy them ?And have they bought them because they have studied the breed found out all there problems as well as there good points, realized that vet bills are very expensive and thought about if they could afford to look after them the right way, did they read books apon books about them so they can try to know there breed inside out ? NO !  So my next line is how come people like that who are out not to improve, dont care about them (they cant do !) just want money money money why do they get it right ? ? ? Its not fair is it! Sorry to here your news its never easy when you have planned and done everything right , belive me a lot of us have been there and been fooled by our girls one of mine did it 3 times then fourth time lucky, you will no doubt get there  too .
