has anyone seen the pic in todays courier of the dobe?  if so, did you see the collar the dog was wearing?  surely this is an ilegal collar?  Hope someone out their has noticed.

just sourced some info on the collar.  it is called a 'prong collar' and is legal.  what a sad world we live in Electric collars and this prong collar. poor dogs that have to have them used on them.

I saw it and had a look at the courier website to see if they had the story on there or if it was covered in any of the nationals but it wasn't.  I noticed straight away that it was a large link prong collar but didn't see the point in him having it on the dog as he continually states throughout the piece that his dog is a softy, was off lead, other people approached and it was fine etc etc.  Personally I don't every see the need for ever using them and thought the man was a bit of a muppet for having it, probably thinking he was a hard man or substituting training his dog for a prong collar.  BUT, there are many people out there who would class using a headcollar in the same way as using a prong collar or e-collar and tbh I would struggle without a headcollar when there is sheet ice and 2 dogs in my care.
