Sorry, another topic on boots! :)

Can anybody recommend a pair of riding boots? I'm looking for some high leg ones for casual riding and mostly working round the stables/kennels so they could do with being pretty comfy and hard wearing . I was looking at these http://tinyurl.com/yhwabfk But any suggestions of which brands/websites to look at would be much appreciated :)

Mountain horse do some nice ones high leg padded and waterproof, i have had mine for years they are also good for dog walking .

I use normal jodhpur boots with gaiters as I have really big calves and cant get boots to fit me! :-(

That must be so annoying Tracey! I have a pair of boots I bought when I was 12yrs old which are in perfect condition and the right size for my feet but because they are junior boots they don't fit my calf anymore, shame really lol. I can't understand why they can't just do all boots in different calf sizes. Thanks both for the suggestions! I defiantly need waterproof boots and i'm forever soaking myself with buckets of water or the hose pipe!

the mountain horse ones i have fit all size calfs , i have rather chunky ones too but the boots have very sticky velcro  fastening at the back .

they do do boots in different calf sizes!! I have several with pairs for hunting or an older pair for rougher work etc but for wearing day in day out i would only wear chaps and short boots as leather riding boots with leather soles (i reues to wear rubber ones) are not designed for walking about in...just for riding in!! I have about 5 different pairs ranging from off the shelf leather hunting boots to hand made for me leather boots. Dont think anyone can say a particular brand as your eally need to try on lots of pairs yourself.

I loved my Mountain Horse ones, they were warm in winter, cool in summer and comfy to walk about in without rubbing, but the zips went and I know lots of other people have had the same problem. However, my local cobbler replaced them for £20, so if you can get them at a good price I'd go for it. When they finally died I got Dublin short boots, jodhpur ones (which I wear with half chaps) and zip-up front ones, which are so comfy I walk for miles in them!

I have ariat boots, so warm comfy and still going strong after 2 years, wash and polish well . they put up with a lot of mud and wet

Hi, Ive got some boots from a company called Rydale in Yorkshire they are leather tall boots and so comfortable more so than any other boots i have had.Debby
