This may sound an odd question but. Has anyone elses dog ever brought up a fur ball. I know cats do sometimes but one of my TT's brought one up on Tuesday and to say I've had dogs all my life I have never experienced this before. I know she is long coated but she is well combed out with no knots but this thing seemed huge!! Well for the size of her it did. It was about 2 1/2" long and about as fat a a sausage! Sorry details now - When I cut it open it had a few bone fragnments in it as well. This doesn't concern me as I do feed raw bones 2/3 times a week. It just seemed odd that they were all packaged up in this furball
do let me know if anyones heard this before with a dog!!

One of mine (Chow X Rottie) coughed up a furball once, several years ago.  It's never happened again.

are you sure she hasnt chewed a furry toy and swallowed some which would look like a fur ball I also have long coated breed never experienced it from thier coat but have one girl who likes to chew furry toys then bring them back  up  I have to watch her like a hawk.

i have hairy monsters, ive noticed that if they have rough playing session during blowing season they can cough a bit up, but no gagging or anythin like that, just like  little clump of hair thats been stuck on tongue that makes a delight for me picking up! urgh! but only happened three times at most, ever.

Hi Starryeyes.
Nope its def. not a soft toy as she doesn't really play with them that much, and certainly not recently. She does tend to pull fur out of her mum so its possible thats where its come from.
Tanya1989. It was def. more than just bits sticking on her tongue. she was actually gagging and then this torpedo appeared!! sorry if thats too graphic ;o)
It was black, and she is black 7 white and her mum is charcoaly black. It was pretty solid as well.
