Sorry to keep asking questions.

One of my pups has a really large tummy! He has been quite constipated the same as the rest but his tummy is a lot larger. The vet checked him yesterday and said it wasnt too hard and to keep stimulating him and giving him water between feeds which I was doing but he still never did anything. So today while I was there with the other pup I asked them to give him something as he was straining and there was some pink blood. They gave me some stuff to syringe into his bum. This has made him go but his stomach is still very large. Im worried about feeding him his normal as I dont know if he is still bunged up? He is still really eager to feed!!

Also Im thinking it may be worms as I dont know if the bitch was wormed (not my bitch) they say she was but I dont believe them!! I got some panacur from the vets and they are 2 weeks tomorrow, do you think it would be ok to worm them tonight?

Thanks

I don't see that it would hurt to start the 3 day course now to be honest.   Normally start my litters on day 14 with Panacur 10% - one day early shouldn't do any harm IMHO.

Puppies need worming from 2-3 weeks still, even when mum is wormed, it makes no difference as the hormones in the DAM stimulate dormant eggs and larvae and this is passed to the pups and then passed back to her when cleaning them, so pups need regular worming at this time as they can become infected. I've always used Drontal puppy not Panacur (it is the oral suspension isn't it for unweaned puppies? I guess so coming from your vet) so from 2 weeks will be fine. :-)

I would worm the pups in the morning not the evening, so would wait until tomorrow. :-)

Thanks Carrington what I meant was that if their mother had been wormed then they would of had a better chance. I have wormed them and they are fine. Tummy still extra large but it doesnt seem to be bothering him.
