Snowing in Wallington Surrey, glad it wasn't like this 26 years ago as I would have been shivering in my wedding dress!!!
Our scwt pup is trying to eat all the stuff falling from the sky whilst watched by the adults who are sensible and in the warm :)
Hoping that it holds off settling properly as we are meant to be travelling to the depths of Sussex on Friday evening for a celebratory meal on the steam railway. Got a feeling that it may be a takeaway in front of the fire!!

Shame my husband doesn't belong to this forum, then he might have shown signs that he remembered!! and not have taken the day off to play golf :(  never mind I expect he'll pop in to a shop on the way home. He is going to suffer (lol!!)
- By Tadsy Date 16.12.09 14:43 UTC
I'm in central london (liverpool street/Bishopsgate) and it's been snowing since about 10.30. Really fine flakes so nothing is settling yet, which is lucky as I live 40 miles away in Kent. Phoned OH to tell him, and he said "i'm pleased for you, but I don't want it to snow until 3pm on Christmas eve, when I'm not in a van!" - he has a point.
- By perrodeagua [gb] Date 16.12.09 14:56 UTC
I don't want it to snow here until about 7.00 pm Christmas Eve after work.  still raining here!
- By suejaw Date 16.12.09 14:58 UTC
Snow is coming south then.. I know its snowing in Crawley and Horsham.. Just that little bit further south and i'll be happy :-)
- By Bellamia [it] Date 16.12.09 15:01 UTC
Northern Italy here...no snow yet but freezing weather...brrr. The surrounding mountains are all snow covered though.
- By Jewel [gb] Date 16.12.09 15:58 UTC
I'm in Kent and its snowing. I'm so excited, I LOVE snow.
- By ChristineW Date 16.12.09 16:09 UTC
Nothing in Dundee/Perth in fact we had sun earlier and it's been mild-ish for this time of year, a balmy 8-10C!
- By klb [gb] Date 16.12.09 16:19 UTC
NOoooooooooooooooooo Cold in Manchester but no snow. Tomorrow I am heading South for a gundog training day in Southampton area - driving down Thursday, training Fri and home Sat. Panic is setting in now as a smidge of snow grinds the UK road system to a halt .. if snow is planned or forecast for the next few days should I cancel my trip ???????????????????????????

Pleaseeeeee can you guys post weather info ... Oxford, Newbury, Winchester, Southampton areas ??????

Snow on the mountains in sight of my house, and I live at sea-level in southern Spain.  It's about 5 degrees here at the moment (well probably lower now it's dark).
- By Harley Date 16.12.09 21:06 UTC
I am in Kent too and the weather forecast for here on Friday is for at least four inches of snow - we have had some flurries today but not enough to make a snowman's finger :-)

- By suejaw Date 17.12.09 14:51 UTC
SNOWING NOW here!!! Whoop Whooop.

Now for a recipe for my own Eggnog
- By kazz Date 17.12.09 15:46 UTC
Well it snowed here about an hour and half ago proper blizzard almost. But eased off and stopped now its still bitterly cold and the snow didnt really stick apart from to the grass etc,  I imagine a bit of rain and it would all disappear.

This is really a British obsession with the weather...isn't it.
- By Whistler [gb] Date 17.12.09 15:51 UTC
My kids always insist on a snowball (there 24 & 22) so I have to buy a bottle of advocaat, its the only drink I would let them have as youngsters so we always start Christmas day with a snowball.

My Nan used to make her own egg nog do you have a recipe I can try?
- By suejaw Date 17.12.09 15:52 UTC Edited 17.12.09 15:54 UTC
Here is a load of different ones, hopefully one will take your fancy

The above is all in Cup's, so like me if you don't have any and don't have a convertor, then the below maybe easier

No snow here in Devon,we are always last for snow if we get any at all.
Very cold here today but had a lovely walk in the sun with the dogs on our moors this morning....if it was snowing i wouldnt have been able to get there. So some consolation for no snow.
- By suejaw Date 17.12.09 16:28 UTC

Bit of snow flurries in york but nothing much. Getting a bit cold though
- By Gemini05 Date 17.12.09 18:09 UTC
Well we are forcast for at least 10cm of snow over night! yipee! My kids are praying it is loads of snow not only so that they can play in it with the dogs, but so they wont have to go to school tomorrow!! :) Its there last day tomorrow, well I say day, but they only go in for about 3 hours if that then I collect them at midday!! hardly seems worth the journey but I WILL be taking them in!! what a cruel mummy!! :) :) :)
- By suejaw Date 17.12.09 18:15 UTC
We have been predicted heavy snow over night :-O
Have no idea how much is due to fall and settle,
- By gwen [gb] Date 17.12.09 18:59 UTC
Started snowing here about 8 am , but did not lie until about 10am.  We now have about an inch lying, and more forecast overnight.  Had to go and get soem Icing & stuff for the Christmas cake s(OK, very late finishing them off this year) and driving back I have to come along a winding cournty road which is leads onot one of the highest spots on the A68, this road has very little hedge cover on the verges and open farmland either side of the raod - the sides of the road were under 8 or 10" of snaow allready, road not been salted and very slippy, I had a hair raisng drive home, doing about 10mph for 5 or 6 miles, there is then a long hill down into the village which was scary too!  Lot happier to arrive hope and wtch the dogs having fun in the snowy garden, the pups are only 5 months old so it is their first snow,
- By Paula [gb] Date 17.12.09 19:46 UTC
Oooh, I'm in Stockport too!!

Am hoping there's going to be a good covering tomorrow!!  Looooove snow!
- By LindyLou [gb] Date 17.12.09 19:54 UTC
It's snowed here off and on almost all day. My daughter is coming down this weekend for the festive season so I hope she doesn't get snowed in   She is west of Aberdeen and near the Grampian hills, so you never know :-(

Snowing in the Pennines tonight...fantastic--I miss real snow and trees where we are. It's my birthday today and just took dogs out for a late night adventure, they were going nuts over it, especially the new pup who has never seen snow. Best day ever!
- By Tanya1989 [ir] Date 18.12.09 00:02 UTC
had some today... not much in the air it seemed but left a lovely "icing sugar coating" on the ground
