Sometimes you have to wonder about the sanity of your family....had a phone call about 30 minutes ago (*on the mobile) it was my eldest niece Katie ...17... I was asked where I was I said kitchen she asked me to go into the hall.... :) ..interesting I think, and I go into the hall and close the doors as directed...and am then asked "what does Sal want for Christmas".... :)  remember Sal is the dog...apparently they are thinking a smoked bone and a new black kong...   .....I love my family but sometimes think they take this a little far....she is a dog.....I already have my Mom and Dad spelling the word Turkey :) in her presence...:)

I mean come on....they need to get tougher like me...I leave her presents at work until Christmas eve in case she finds them... ;)

Very sensible.  One year I was at the kitchen sink watching little bits of wrapping paper blowing in the wind.  How Christmassy I thought, til it occurred to me that I was watching the aftermath of some pillaging under the tree.

My mongrel had extracted his one present from a huge pile, taken it into the garden and was happily having his own private Christmas Day several days too early.  Toad :)

My children were convinced our BC could read because he could always find his present by himself!

:-)

I wrapped and posted some pressies to my friend's dog...in the USA!  You should have seen the look I got from the guy in the PO when he asked me what the parcel contained so he could complete the customs declaration :-o

I change my words in case Jake picks up I say Im off for a wander i cant say walk or he is there.
Its perfectly natural to want to keep a surprise!!
Mind you now you start any word with "W" and he is wise to it.

My biggest laugh is watching my OH (director of a company hirer & firer) have a long discussion with Jake (BC) they both tilt their heads and understand each other completely. Always finishes with " he said that.... (pause) My word!!" and off they go two like minded men (and dog).

>>he said that.... (pause) My word!!"

I do this with one of my Girls, and she grumbles back at me. Usually when sitting on the floor with her between my legs (she would sit on my lap but I lose circulation after about 15 seconds!) We have many conversations like this, totally frustrates the OH as when he tries to do it - she won't talk to him, she only talks to her mum!
