Hi everyone,
Well its almost over so would be nice to know what everyones achievements for the year are! I have felt like i was riding a runaway train and can't believe what we have acheived.
My 14 months old Golden Retriever pup gained her JW in September, a week later she won our first ever Res CC. Just last weekend, 4 days short of her being 14 months old she won our very first CC and is now TOP PUPPY 2009 for our breed! All this in just 8 months of showing! I am over the moon!!!
So how have you all done???

Well, we only came to mainland to one show, she was second in her class.
Locally, we just recieved invitation to dog of the year show ion Jersey as she qualified by being 1st in terrier group at one of the shows here. She also took the trophy locally for terrier of the year at the agm so we are very pleased.
Not certain as to whether or not to come over for crufts or not....

Not the best year for us I am afraid. Merl had a litter end of Jan and kept Chablis!! (Are we NUTS!!!) Then we lost our Darling Treacle in June to cancer, very quick and heartbreaking for us. RIP Treak.
Had a good show at Paington with the bitch CC and BOB for Merl, and a 2nd in a good class of pups and a qualifying place for Chablis too. Then Three green Stars and BOB in Ireland and three Very promising grades for Chablis. Pup had a couple of nice 2nds in Sept ,then started to limp and has done so ever since!!! Merl had Best bitch and Res BIS at the Gb club show so a nice end to the year, we could not go to LKA as she is in season. So some good and some horrible.

This time last year I was just coming home with what I would call my biggest achievement....My long awaited Komondor puppy and my how 12mths have flown by.
Stepped out into the show ring for the very first time in May and since then it has been a whirlwind of baths, shows and rosettes lol and I`m loving every minute of it :)

We haven't really shown a lot through out the year, as the judges have been pretty rubbish! But in August we made my Lakeland Terrier up to an Irish champion, my first ever champion! But I'm some what sad we don't have anything to take him over to Ireland for now. And we bought a very naughty new puppy! She is now 8 months old, I loving showing her and she is doing very well. She's been to 5 open shows and has won - 4xBPIB, 3xPuppy Group 1, 1xPuppy Group 3, 1xBOB, 1xRBOB and 2xBest Puppy in Show! So we have had a lovely start with her. I've also been approved to judge Lakeland Terriers so that's a start in a (scary) new direction for the new year! Hope everybody else has had a good year, and congratulations to everyone! :)

Not shown much. My youngster has been a nightmare at all shows, but had brilliant comments about her.
She did though, calm down enough at the first ever breed club open show though to win BIS at the age of 16 months so I can't really complain. Did say to the judge at LKA when he commented on her temperament that I was hoping that she may have calmed down slightly by the age of 12.

myself and timo have shown at 8 champ shows since he was 6 months old in may and have had 4 1sts and 5 2nds,way more than i would have predicted for our first 7 months of showing him! i'm so proud of how he's done! my best year so far for multi crufts qualifying.

2 bpis show at champ shows plus 1 bpd. 1 BIS and 1 RBIS at club open shows aged 14 months a great year for me. don't usually brag but i'm chuffed to bits.
Very mixed for me, two of our Older Beardies went to the Bridge (August and November). Made up my first ever Champion in May, Kira, then my second in December, her son, Marco.

not too badly here.. brought Tia out of retirement, going into the ring for the 1st time in 3 years.. 1st show she managed Gundog G3.. next show BOB, G1 and BIS,
Her daughter Hannah took Gundog puppy G1 and BPIS at same show... another pup (Nora) went RBPIS, and Ollie boy gained his Stud Book No.

My one goal this year was for Alfie to get his stud book number and he did this in April ...... Oh and in May I had a baby, I suppose that was an achievement too ...... I suppose the real acheivement was being able to run round the ring at 8 months pregnant !!!

Similar age pup to you Peaches, and well done to you in such a highly competitive breed.
My Inka started her showing at Champ level in April with our breed club show.
In all we attended 14 CC shows and she was Top Puppy, Was second in Group at Windsor at 11 months, got her Champion Title and a week later her Junior Warrant at 14 months. Finished on 3 CC's and 5RCC's.
She was also BOB and BP at Southern Counties without CC's and Best Puppy and Reserve Best bitch to her mothers best bitch at Three Counties without CC's, and RBB at Birmingham City without CC's.
Only trouble is she's done it all already now.

Brainless having done it all so early with your youngster, and i have to say very well done on all accounts to you and everyone else who has done so well this year. Do you feel that showing her is still exciting now that you have achieved so much with her already? I know you could go for the breed record on CC's?
The one and only champ show i have taken my youngster to he qualified for Crufts. He's also got a few BPIB at open shows and G3's. Hoping next year we can improve on that..
> Do you feel that showing her is still exciting now that you have achieved so much with her already?
That's the problem, from after Manchester it will be fighting it out for a placing against the mature exhibits in Open.
Our breed record has just been taken after 20 plus years, with 45 CC's so no way would I try to go for it as I normally only do a maximum of 10 CC shows a year. If you then factor in time off for litters (in our breed that means 9 months out with season, pregnancy, rearing and then growing coat back), then a bitch getting more than 44 CC's is a tall order.
Will probably keep showing in my usual fashion alternating between the three girls that I show.

Many congratulations everyone on your successes, wishing you all luck and success for 2010!
I have had a amazing year and feel very lucky. My boy who 2 1/2 now started the year well with a BIS at general open show, won his 3rd RCC, then his first CC!!! (that was the most amazing day), then his 4th RCC with RBIS and finally BD & RBIS at a Breed club open show a super way to finish 2009. And I have a new puppy who is delightful and at her first show she won BOB, BP, G4 & PG1. Really looking forward for 2010. :)

Another place at Crufts for Henry, only GC but he was nearly 7 years old at the time - and going to Crufts 5 years running and being placed every time is pretty impressive! Also picked up several Best Veteran In Breed, Group and Show awards. And Ellie got a BOB and G2 back in January, and some decent placings over the year, as well as 2nd in Rally Obedience at our companion show, and 1st in Pre-Bs and Beginners at South Eastern Toy. So a pretty good year in all.
Wishes for next year - I'd like her to have the litter that she didn't have this autumn, I'd like Henry to be placed at Crufts again, specially as my friends are handling him in one class, and I'd like to get moved into our new house!! :-)

I feel I have a had a year full of first timers!!. Started the year with 2 BPIB at Boston and Manchester with Millie, my first ever BP at champ show level! MIllie won her JW at 14 mopnths old, gaining along the way, 12 BP at open/champshow level, a puppy group 1,3 and 2 group 4's in her puppy career. Arnie, was only lightly shown but still managed to be placed in all but 1 of his champ show classes. Ended the year with a couple of other 1st timers with Millie winning my 1st group 1 in an adult group at open show then the following month Arnie matching her with another group win, then getting his and mine 1st BIS at open show.
Have loved every minute of it, not forgetting my daughter's first time showing at Richmond and the fantstic year she has had with Millie, very very proud of her
Roll on 2010 hoping to move up to Derbyshire, carry on with some more 1st timers!! lol
