Just found his letter to santa...

"Dear Santa,

Hope you and Rudolf are keeping ok? For Christmas this year I would like a remote control car, a computer game and a camera but most of all I would like for Sam to have a nice Christmas because it might be her last one. So you can keep some of my presents and bring her a warm blanket and a big juicy bone and maybe some treats that are soft because her teeth aren't the best these days.

Sam is our 15+ year old lab cross and she's probably not going to make it to next Christmas (tho she had me thinking the same last year!). My son is 8 and never known a day without her :(
