Ive just woken up as I heard Tiegan get up to have a drink, I got up as I always do to check when she lay down she didnt squash one and Ive just found the black boy dead behind her. Im gutted, I grabbed him to move him round the front and knew straight away as he was limp, I took him straight out and ran upstairs with him in my hands sobbing. At first when I looked I thought it was green boy as the lights were dimmed but when I went to wrap him in a towel I noticed it wasnt him, which I suppose is even worse! How have I let this happen, Im not sure if he's been squashed or if he wouldve passed away anyway but he hadnt long been dead. Im sleeping on the couch right next to her so why havent I heard him cry?!
Im hoping and praying that he was actually squashed and nothing else, would hate to think they had something wrong with them. This little one gave me no reason to be concerned about him at all so fingers crossed he was well and didnt have some sort of infection that the rest could have.
Now Im even more concerned about the little guys. Ive weighed them again before giving them another top up and blue boy has put a little more weight on and green boy is just the same.
I cant stop thinking about the poor little lad, I feel so awful and cant stop crying! God I hope my other 2 pull through!
Tiegan doesnt seem to be any the wiser as she seems quite settled, I think I managed to get him away before she saw.

Oh I'm so sorry to hear this - I don't know anything about breeding but I'm sure you've done everything you could.  Might be worth talking to a vet once they're open if you're worried about the other two pups.

Please don't blame yourself, it sounds as if you've done everything right.

So sorry you have lost him. Unfortunately it does happen. That's why dogs have multiple whelps. It doesn't help when it is your favourite though. :-( Don't beat yourself up over it. It will not do you any good. I've lost a few and it doesn't get any easier I'm afraid. As you didn't hear anythin it is possible that there was something else wrong with him, but you will never know.

So sorry to hear this news. I've personally never lost any other than at time of birth and even then I'm heatbroken, can't even begin to imagine how you're feeling. Don't beat yourself up I really don't think it is your fault , you can't do anymore than what you are doing already.
