Topic Dog Boards / Showing / trimming whiskers

I am trying  to help my friend get her Boston terrier ready to show and apparently they need their whiskers trimming. What is the best way to do this?
we are struggling a bit  as the dog is not reallt co-operating and keeps moving her head just as we try to cut the whiskers. Is this something she will get used to?

how old is the dog?

Yes it is try to teach her to just stand when doing it, i gently hold the muzzle and just ask them to stand, you trim to give a clean outline mine will stand for it no bother and one that doesn't show will push his face towards me just to have his done so he doesn't feel left out he gets his done lol, we trim whiskers and any parts that stick out around the face under chin etc but generally only before a show.

one of us is holding the  dog and the other is trying to trim the whiskers but she seems to jerk her head away just as we close the scissors. There is not much  muzzle to hold with a Boston terrier, and we are worried about getting the scissors too near the eyes.

yeah, she'll get used to it, like the others said, she'll learn to enjoy the attention. http://wahlglobal.com/product.php?id_item_n1=310&id_item_n2=320&type=51&id_category=218&id_product=895&site=20&language=1&id_sin=20 we used one of these for our horse lol, they are cute little trimmers, if your worried about nicking the pup or stabbing her with scizzors, these might be worth an investment... theyre only abour a tenner and ive never nicked a dog or horse yet.

ETA you can get them from most saddleries

they really are brill. well worth a tenner. my poor horse would have no skin or eyes left if i had to use scissors. used to use a razor on him, but then found out when i used it on my other horse he got shavers rash. so wouldnt use a razor on a dog. their skins too sensitive

Think i'll add some to my grooming box for both dogs and horses seeing as they are so cheap
