I certainly have always bathed my girls close to whelping and never had a problem. I have also since heard that it is beneficial to give all the teats a good wash beforehand to remove any dead flaking skin on them to prevent it being taken in by the puppies.
Good luck!
i was told you can but not a full bath when pups have arrived .
Thankyou, do i need to use any special shampoo or will she be ok with her normal 1?

something gentle such as puppy shampoo would be best or johnsons baby shampoo especially if she is a bit sore where she has been licking her foo foo
cheers guys, i'l give her a pampering session before d day, make her feel beta,
tanya that made me laugh " foo foo" when i was younger i use to call my cousin that but he was a boy lol we were same age too (i think about 10) ...thats so funny x
but dont leave it to late incase she goes early ;)
i did chuckle when i read it, but come to think of it, what other word could be used?????
i am a bit worried she is gona go early as she did last time so think i mite bath her now and then i no its done, or do you think its still a bit early?
how early was she last time ? bitches can go early with 1st not sayin all do ! but then on the second go to time lol , if it was me id do 7days before due date then if she does go acouple days early she will be fine and still nice and clean even if she goes to time ,all id do is just wipe her nipples day before .
she did 59 days last time and were on day 54 now, she's looking alot bigger this time so i am really scared now, but she seems alot happier with this litter, resting alot (thank god), stupid question but how do i take her temp?

The same way that the vet does - you use a rectal thermometer.
