Wer'e Baaaack  from the greyhound Rescue and our new friend has been chosen .  Shady loved him and he seemed to like Shady, although he is so laid back he is almost horizintal .
We never got one bark towards him from Shady and they happily walked along together on a little walk, She let him sniff her and she sniffed him, so I think there is a friendship there in the making.
They are hopefully going to try to do our homecheck either today or tomorrow and then we can collect him
I did take the camera but forgot to take any pics .  Lots will come I promise when he arrives with us.  In the meantime you can get a sneak preview on the rescues website, just scroll down to Moody, although the name and the pic don't do him any justice at all.

I'm having my homecheck at 9.30 tomorrow morning.  If i pass we have decided to wait to collect Moody till Sat morning as both my daughter Charly and I can be here together with him and take the dogs out together and if one of us has to pop out the other can be here.

That's really good news! :-) I'm glad Shady seems to get on with him - how about your other dog who you were worried about recently? How is he?

He looks sweet!   How about Milo though?  Has he met him yet?
- By Lokis mum [gb] Date 06.12.09 22:46 UTC
JG:  we seem to have posted at the same time with the same thought!

Two dogs is one thing ...three can sometimes be a little more difficult to settle together.

Milo sadly lost his fight.  Despite battling for nearly 3 years and having him under a top specialist at Newmarket there was no more they could do for him and with a broken heart we had to let him go, he was in so much pain and discomfort in the end.
He was very very special and he will never leave our hearts.
We said no more dogs at first, but within a few days we knew Milo would want us to give the love we gave him to another dog that was needing it, so hence we are taking in a rescue greyhound.
Every night though I still lift my quilt for him to come under for a snuggle.  Well you never know do you, he may be gone in body but his spirit will always live on.
As you can see Milo is still in my avatar and there he will remain.

Bev - I'm so sorry - I must have missed your posting about Milo.   That is so sad - but you did your best for him - and although no other dog can take his place, your newcomer can fill his space in your hearts.

Hope all goes well with him.

I'm so sorry, bev. :-( I confess I've been too busy and distracted recently to read every post so I must have missed your update about him. :-( It's such a tragedy when we have to end our dear friends' lives, but there are times when it's unfair to force them to carry on. Heartbreaking. :-(
- By bevb [gb] Date 07.12.09 10:49 UTC
You didn't miss it, I didn't post.  I was just heartbroken he was only 4yrs old would have been 5 on Jan 15th.
Thankyou for your kind words though.
Anyway on a lighter note I have just passed the homecheck so will be collecting Moody on Saturday.

Bev, I've been reading through your posters and wondered if you have any envirnmental contamination? You seem to have an awful lot of illness or bad luck with these doggies? Have you thought about having the ground checked for poinsedness thingies? :(

Sorry forgot to adds the sorryness for Milos passed x
- By bevb [gb] Date 07.12.09 18:03 UTC
Milos illness was not the same as my other two dogs and my dogs before them lived to 12 and 14yrs.
Shady my Rottie x GSD is very healthy apart from a little arthiritis.
I did start to think along those lines at one point but then my GSD and other JRT wouldn't have lived to such good ages and healthy to the end and Shady would also have something wrong with her to which she hasn't. So I've now ruled that out really.

Ok, just summit that went through my minds...
