Hello
I was hoping for some advice on entering stakes classes, hopefully someone can confirm what the rules are.
I'm entering an open show where our breed has it own classes, the show is not judged on the group syetem.
So, say my dog gets BOB (fingers crossed!!), but I have also entered him in the AV open stakes class;
if he is beaten in the stakes class, does this mean he can't go into BIS? Or are stakes classes seperate and the beaten dog rule does not apply? Or can i withdraw from the stakes if my boy gets BOB?
I have read the rules and regs section, but they are quite confusing.
I apologise if this may seen a stupid question, but I don't want to make a mistake entering the stakes class.
Thanks
Tea

Yes, only unbeaten dogs can challenge so if you are beaten in a stakes class at an open show after taking BOB then you cannot challenge. If it the same judge it is sometimes just as well to the stakes class instead, as if they dont like your dog in the stakes class then in theory, they wont like him in the group or BIS.
You do of course have the right to withdraw from the stakes if you win BOB but cannot withdraw from the breed classes

Sometimes the stakes classes are after Best In Show then it wouldn't matter as you would have already gone in for BIS but make sure, its usually the AV classes if you enter them and have already won BOB pull out of those as if beaten in an AV class then you cannot go in for BIS
