I have recently purchased a staffordshire bull terrier and i am not sure on how to go about breeding
and training, i also have two young children will this breed of dog be a suitable live in pet?
She is very strong and walking her is becoming difficult how do i control her?
HI
I am not a Staffie owner but believe that they are generally considered to be great famiy dogs, although sometimes not quite so good with other dogs.... so make sure you socialise yours in a good puppy class/group where there is some degree of control and it isnot a total free-for-all, or she may learn to push other dogs about from a young age.
If you don't already have a trainer in mind visit (link)www.apdt.co.uk(/link) and you should find a class near you.... you will also learn how to control her generally, call back frm distractions and so on.
Well now i am embarrassed - i am not computer literate obviously... I tried to make a clickable link to the apdt in my previous post and have made a complete pig's ear of it...ah well!!! :o

Hi Lindsay
You've used round brackets instead of the square ones that's why your link doesn't work - don't worry I did this loads of times before the penny finally dropped :-)
Jane
Thanks Jane, the penny has dropped i think :)

Staffs make great pets around children my 1 loves my young daughter.
I took him to puppy classes and found it helped with some behaviour
problems.

Why not purchase a book on the breed or hire from your local library.
Do you belong to a breed club? Often other members are happy to
advise.
