Topic Dog Boards / Showing / Can I do 3 obedience classes?

Got my UK Toy schedule, my girl is out of Pre-Bs at Toy shows, so I was going to enter Beginners and novice as the advice on the obedience UK site is to do the 2 lowest classes. Then I noticed A had scent, which I more-or-less taught Ellie (we can't practise at home and can't get to any clubs which do it at present, but she often brought back the right cloth!) and fancied showing off. It would just be a laugh as she probably won't do the out of sight downstay, but I wondered if it would be ok to work her in A as well just to see if she remembers her scent?

I think you could do Beginners and A but not all 3. You must enter the lowest class you are elligible for but the other can be any you like well not Champ C of course :-D

You have to do your Lowest class , plus one other. You can work in Begs & Novice  or Beg & A.  If you fancy working A have a go, but remeber no talking!!!! :) Who is judging?

Ooh, no talking, I'd forgotten that! You can still talk in Novice though can't you? I did a companion show once where the top obedience class was a no talking class and she actually did respond fairly well. Laurie Phillips is judging Beginners and Novice and Ron Davies is judging A. Are either of them so collie-orientated that they will dock 20 marks just because a Cavalier doesn't work with its head glued to your knee? I have had a couple like that, but most will just dock once for being slightly wide and then be ok as long as she is consistent.

Well Ron only marks Sits!!!!!! They are both quite fair, i prefer Laurie but bECAUSE he marks more. Let me know what you decide,

Decided to stick with Novice - she's only 5 in December, she'll have plenty of time to try A the year after next!
