We heard a big explosion at around 430am looked out my back window to see huge flames and smoke ,
we thu on some clothes and went outside to see people running down the street barefoot one women had a baby in arms,

on the corner of our road a pub with benches outside has loads of people sitting with blankets round them some in pj's , kids babys one old women crying who'd had to flee from her home and couldnt get her dogs out others had cats all were left behind in the burning flats , :-(

we came home and boiled kettle took some plastic cups and tea bags down to the corner took some blankets and tried to help some people with a hot cuppa,
iv just dropped the old women and her husband who lost their dogs in the madness to the local church and as we entered her little old grey faced staffie came running to her i cant tell you how happy she looked ( and ok i had tears in my eyes to)her neighbour had found the dog wondering along the landing and he followed her to the church no lead nothing, i feel so awful for the people who lost pets and only hope everyone got out, another disaster in the area ,
i feel shattered and very tearful now and i feel lucky to have my family and home safe , but at same time feel sad for all those who have lost everything ,

Just saw this tragedy reported on the News and I thought of you Chelzeagirl knowing it was probably your area.  However, I am glad that you are O.K. and good on you for helping out the less fortunate.  It is awful to think of these poor people losing their homes, and just before Christmas too.  :(

I think people will be really grateful for any help they can get under the circumstances, and your gesture will mean a lot too, I should think.  It will be good for them to see that somebody cares!

i cant belive it the pub on oppersite side of the road has been burnt out also, its totally crazy how fire can spread like this across a whole street when it really takes hold,
it will be a miracle that no one has died,
a friend round the corner was so worried this morning she has a mate who lives over their with her young child and shes been trying to ring her but the phone was off iv said to her that its more than likley shes run out of her house without it and in one of the shelter places set up, but its still worrying,
the helicopter has been flying above my house round and round since 4,30 am
word on the street (and this is only what people who live closer to it than me are saying)
ie the guy on the news this morning Ted he lives at the end of the road where the fire started and he was saying that those guys who hang out at B&Q looking for work everyday had been spending their nights withing part of the building where it started that was being renovated he thinks they built a fire to keep warm and its got out of control,
i hope he is wrong as if this is the case how would you know if anyone of them where trapped inside , its an awful tragic thing,

BIG WELL DONE TO ALL THE FIRE AND POLICE CREWS WHO DELT WITH IT VERY WELL AND WELL DONE TO THE WHOLE COMUNITY WHO HELPED THEIR NEIGHBOURS GET OUT XXX god bless them all xx
