I bought a folding grooming table several years ago and it has me flumuxed.  I can never seem to get the legs perfectly straight and whilst I am grooming I constantly have to adjust the legs so it does not collapse.

Underneath the table are two metal supports which fit onto a long screw coming down from the centre of the table.  There is also a circular piece of metal, hole in the centre (to fit over the screw), which is half folded down the middle.  I have no idea what purpose it serves, but I leave it on ... in various configurations.

There must be a correct way to assemble the table because it drives me nuts.  Can anyone help?

afraid cant help as I have a very old heavy grooming trolley ...the bars that fix the legs on mine I push until they lock .

Why not give Simpsons a ring ??

Hi, don't know if this helps, as my table isn't a Simpsons, but appears to be the same underneath. My table had a black plastic knob which turns onto the screw and tightens the legs up so it stays solid. Could you perhaps be missing a piece from the table?

I think I have a similar table too (not Simpsons) but mine has a wing nut which screws on over the plate & the screw which keeps the legs locked in place - sounds like you're missing a nut!

Thanks for the help.  I'm sure I have all the parts to the table, but the legs are not as stable as I'd like them to be. 

... someday I'll invest in a new table, one that I can adjust for height.  Until then I will put up with it.

Have you contacted Simpsons?  Although I have found them to be not as helpful now that Brian has retired. :(
