Ohhhh, good thread :)

I''m a 32 year old, married mother of 2 boys, aged 11 & 10 yrs. I've been married for 7 years and been with my OH since I was 17.

I am a self-employed animal portrait artist & work from home.

I LOVE animals, especially dogs :) I have one dog at the moment (my first ever pure-breed), Buster, (English Mastiff) my pride & joy, he's nearly 2& half years old now. I would love to have another dog, but I'm not sure if we have room :(

I also have a cat, a rabbit and pond fish (mostly koi, but are very proud of our sturgeon & a sterlet).

I''ve grown up around dog & cats and can not ever imagine not having a dog to share my life with.

I love reading horros (Stephen King esp.), listening to music and reading/talking about dogs.

I am 25 and currently not working, I used to work in a watersports centre and was training to be a sailing instructor but I crashed my motorbike when I was 22 and spent the next 4months in hospital and two years doing hydro and phyisotherapy :s
after all that decided to treat myself to a pup when I was well enough to look after a young dog as well as my oldie :)

As well as the two dogs I live with my boyfriend and three ferrets in rural mid-wales in a small cottage, which I love because there is so much wildlife about but I do miss having a centrally heated house!

I love reading and will read nearly anything, I did a short course on basic science with the OU earlier in the year and hope to start the next one in March, so hopefully I'm improving my job prospects while keeping a bit busy.
I like music but especially sea shanties but I don't think the Missy and Vic like them because they howl and whine when I sing :)

Me and my family are nuts about all things mastiff, currently owning 2 bullmastiffs and 1 cane corso, when I'm at home during the holidays we spend the weekends out and about showing dogs.

I'm 33 years old , live in Northumberland . I am married with a 6 year old son and I am a full time housewife . I spend my days with my seven dogs 1 = Shar-pei (flowered) 11 1/2 years old Called Dan.
        2 = Spinone / Pointer cross 9 1/2 years old called Zola.
3 = Rottweiler 3 1/2 years called Vale ( pronounced Valley ) named after a famous motorcycle rider.
        4 = French Bulldog 2 3/4 years called Lulu.
5 = French Bulldog almost 1 year old called Ruth ( she's the naughty one of the bunch )
6 = Dogue de Bordeaux 2 years old called Fern
7 = Dogue de Bordeaux 5 months called Pearl.
This is the reason I am a full time housewife as having so many dogs to take care of fill my days ( I wouldn't be without any of them ) I was previously a store manager but gave up work when I had my son.
My hobbies are showing dogs and motorcycle racing ( watching that is! ) We travel to watch bike racing sometimes throughout Europe . My mother or grandmother stay at our house to care for the dogs when we go as I like them to stay in their routine.
I also learned to ride a motorcycle last year but haven't been out much . My son has a pw50 and has just started motorcross.

Really enjoyed reading everyones posts , all so different but with one thing in common our love for our doggies.

oooh this is very interesting... I wasn't going to post, but having had a good nosey at everyone's, I thought I'd play fair...

I'm 25 and live in Leeds, used to live on the Wirral (and know that Leeds will never be as good..).  I'm in my 3rd (and hopefully final) year of a PhD in human genetics, and can't wait to insist that people call me 'Doctor'!!  Before this I worked for the company that do the paternity testing for Jeremy Kyle, and no doubt it will always be my claim to fame.

I have 3 loopy Labradors - Dexter 5.5, Amber 4 and Melvin 8months, and no kids (and I intend it to stay that way).  They are all proud members of the Tailwagger display team, and are always doing some kind of training.  I've also dabbled in the show world recently.  I live with my boyfriend who I have converted into a complete dog fanatic too!

Don't have much spare time, but do have a 'holiday' planned - going to a music festival at Butlins :-D
- By cutewolf [gb] Date 24.11.09 22:13 UTC
I am 21 and currently at college studying Animal Management. I'm a fair bit older than others on my course as I took a couple of years out of education, during which time I was a dog walker. Not sure what I'm going to do after - just find any job in animal care I suppose. I'll probably end up doing kennel work, which I don't mind really :)
I've been with my girlfriend for 2 and a half years, it's currently long distance but hopefully not for much longer.
I love rock music, my favourite band is Muse and I've seen them 3 times. Other bands I love are Queens of the Stone Age, Biffy Clyro and Foo Fighters.
I'm pretty good at drawing and used to draw dog portaits for people, but found I hated drawing to deadlines! I'd much rather pick up a pencil whenever I feel like a doodle.

I have a 3 year old male Toller, he is fantastic and I love him to bits! I'm addicted to the breed now and I can't wait until my life is settled enough to have some more. I show him and have competed with him in agility and obedience in the past, although unfortunately I can't do much now due to being a poor student.

I am 21 years of age, currently living in Bristol with my ex partner (complex!) and my cross-breed Mason.

We run a small pub about 15 minutes from the centre of the city which I absolutely love :) and have converted into a dog-friendly establishment.

I enjoy photography and am due to start my degree next September! I am so excited! The plan is to become a free-lance photographer, mainly pets and animals. These I can deal with, people...not so much!

I was brought up surrounded by animals, and although Mason is my first dog, I don't plan on stopping there! I love the Cane Corso, Pugs & German Shepards, well anything with four legs really.

I also enjoy getting covered in mud, reading til I fall asleep and the occasional night out on the tiles :)

This is great having a nosey at who everyone is 'in real life' :-)

I'm 30, fast approaching 31, I work in project management in the automotive industry but am also self employed as a jewellery designer / art & craft events organiser in my 'spare' time.

I have 1 dog, a crazy hairy 6 year old terrier x breed called Stitch and a lovely old (20 yo!) cat called Mog, not married, but have been with my lovely 'hubby' for 12 1/2 years, living together for the last 8 or so.

My 'hobby' is drag racing - anyone who's friends with me on Facebook will have seen the pics of my crazy car - the local kids call it 'the Hot Wheels car' :-D

Claire :-)

Oh, forgot to add, I'm from Northamptonshire

Great thread.
I am a 47 year old mum of 2 (24 & 19)  was a police officer for 21 years years, retired on medical grounds in 2000; thought I would get a part time job in due course but so far have been prevented by not being able to work Mon or Fri as these are part of the long weekends we take with the caravan and being owned by 4 Soft-Coated Wheatens Terriers (10yrs 6 m, 7, 4 and 5 months!) I was petrified of dogs before discovering this wonderful breed and am now hooked.
My husband shows and prepares the dogs (I am a bit scissor happy!!) and I do all the natural feeding, apparently they have better shampoos and supplements than us :)
We enjoy socialising after the shows where we have either exhibited or my husband has stewarded, you see a new side to some people!
We live in Wallington, Surrey but hope to relocate to Malvern when he retires (soon) so the dogs can benefit from the beautiful countryside.

I'm 37, married with a two year old daughter.  I share the most gorgeous four year old toy poodle (although I am slightly biased) called Roxy with my mum and dad, although since having my daughter I don't have her as often as I can't face getting up during the night if I don't need to and my dad seems to have got her into the habit of taking her out in the middle of the night.  I've had toy poodles in my life since I've been a little girl.

I live in Glasgow and work for a Chartered Surveyors firm.  I enjoy reading thrillers, all things Rocky Horror and my dream man (apart from my husband of course) is Sawyer from Lost.

I didnt realise how many of us "30's" were on the board :)

Im 32 (just) live with my "life partner" and 6 month old daughter. I work as a medical underwriter,  I am still on maternity leave at the moment but going back to work part time in January :(

The pets in my life are Fagan and Alfie the Irish Setters (collectively known as "the boys") Rupert the ginger and white cat (Delilah cat is still on the missing list :(  ), Alex and Dave the funky hair guniea pigs and Frank the king snake.  Hobbies are showing, agility and cani-cross.  I have more recently taken up bikejoring !!  I love reading favourite authors are Martina Cole, Peter James, Simon Kernick, Tess Geritsen ...... the list could go on.

I grew up with Afghans and a Bichon, I did junior handling with the Afghans and a bit of agility with the Bichon.  I studied Animal Care / Science at college

I live in a village in Hampshire overlooking farmland / woodland which is great for walking the boys ...... unless its shooting season

I'm just scraping in here as a 30-something. I'm 39...sounds so old but I feel about 16.

I'm an Enforcement Officer, in a civil partnership with my partner of 9 years who is a hairdresser.

I was (and still am) spaniel mad but after the death of my favourite boy Jack a few years ago, just couldn't bring myself to get another, so we went for our next big passion which is Boston Terriers - We have 2 incredibly handsome and goofy brothers (from different litters).

We have no kids and just live to enjoy ourselves, we love hot tubs and saunas, beaches and good food.

Our lives revolve around our boys and doing nice stuff together.

Happy days........

I bred showed and worked GSD's for many a year with ex-OH but now am owned by three Bernese, and I am just a slave to them!! We did have four but lost Treacle earlier this year. We had half shares in two others, Jodie and Sheena, with Ron's ex but they went to the bridge over 9 years ago now .
I live in sunny Somerset having grown up just over the border in Dorset and moved back here from South Wales 14 years ago to be with Ron.
I have seem my fair share of deep down times but the dogs have held me together on many occasions but my life never really started till I was 40 and from then it has been a BALL!!! WHOOP WHOOP!!

I must say what I like about the 'Dog World' is the anonymity of it, same with other hobbies.  it is irrelevant what one is in 'civvy street' it's ones standing and achievements in doggy circles that is relevant.

But then I am one of those who likes to keep different areas of my life fairly separate, with little or no overlap between family, hobbies and career/work.

So who am I?

I am a 45 year old female Norwegian Elkhound lover xince 1992, who shows her dogs with reasonable success, and have achieved this with my own breeding program, now in it's 6th generation.

In the last 18 months I have been joined in my doggy passion (though probably more in a supporting role) by new husband Dean.

I am 47, have been divorced for approx 10 years. I have 4 children 3 boys 21,16 and 15 and one daughter aged 22.
I used to live near heathrow but moved to clacton-on-sea 4 and a half years ago where I work as a receptionist in a minor injuries unit.
I have four dogs, 17 year old shih tzu cross, 8 year old sbt, 2 year old shih tzu and 1 year old chinese crested. Also 3 cats, 2 parrots, 1 tortoise, 4 guinea pigs, 1 rat and several fish.
I would love to move to the middle of nowhere and live off the land with just my animals to keep me company but unfortunately have to work and dont drive so will have to stay put. My dream job would be to work as a vets receptionist but am stuck where I am at the moment but will keep looking.

Great thread!!
I am 39, divorced many years ago, but recently married again to my partner of 7 years. I have 2 daughters aged 12 and 10, he has 2 of his own, a girl aged 15 and a boy aged 13. I have worked for Sainsburys since I was 18 and am a deputy store manager which is a great job for dog showing as I can pick which days I work!!! I currently own 2 GSP's, Arnie who is almost 4 and Millie who is 19 months who I have great fun with in the show ring. I have made some really great friends through dog showing.
I also enjoy going to the gym and have competed in indoor rowing competitions. My latest passion is running with the dogs although I haven't plucked up the corouage to do this competitively yet!!!!
We currently live on the Surrey/Hampshire border but our dream is to move up to Derbyshire very soon.

Here goes; I'm 57, nearly at 58.  I can outpace and outwit any twenty-something and am still only mid 30s in me 'ead.

Had trained years and years ago as a canine beautician; that's wot we were called back then.  I ,moved on to become a veterinary nurse for some years.

I've been married for 25 years this time, now doing part-time work in retail so I can be at home with my little mate(Ike) - he's my dog, you will have guessed.

Have moved all around with hubby's job over the years but came from Sussex originally.
