Hello Everyone :)

Its about that time when I get all excited and start planning my menu change in the pub. Things havent been going great with the food side of things so I am going to stick to what I am good at and serve mainly pizza :) Hand rolled, stone baked, they seem to be very popular and I have a steady demand for them. Although, at the moment, I would say my toppings are pretty standard. I really want to try some new ideas.

Just wondering what everyones favourite toppings where? How do you prefer your base? Is there a special pizza you make at home that you enjoy?

All suggestions welcome, as I am not a chef by trade (or even a great cook, if I'm honest ;) )

I like any kind of topping as long as the base is thin.  Here are some of my fave ingredients (not all at once ;-) ) - tomato, peppers, onions, ham, chorizo, anchovies, olives, mushrooms, and of course it MUST have mozzarella cheese on it.  I also love a drizzle of olive oil and a handful of fresh rocket plonked on top when it comes out the oven :-)

I got addicted to something unusual when visiting the US, and I now make it at home. Cheese and tomato pizza with pineapple and cashew nuts!

Mmmm...pizza!!  My favourite (along with all my other favourites! lol)

I love a thin & crispy base.  My favourite pizza is parma ham with spinach (or asparagus, when in season), with or without an egg on top (you need to partially cook the pizza before adding the egg).  I also like roasted red pepper and goats cheese (spinach is good with this too) and it's a good vegetarian option too.

I love pepperoni and chorizo too (not together).  Some sort of meat feast is usually a popular option (and if you're not too specific with the description, it can be a good way of using up leftover sausage, bacon, chicken etc).

For something completely different, you could offer a Paddy Pizza.  The base is irish soda bread (which is easy to make...I can supply a recipe :-)) topped with tomatoes, bacon (or sausage) and mature cheddar cheese.  Add a fried egg on top for the authentic experience (if an irish pizza can ever be classed as authentic :-D).  Delish!

Ooooh, I want your job!  Wanna swap? :-D

Pizzas where you can pick and choose is always good. have a list of topppings e.g ham, pepper, peperomi, pineapple etc the prices e.g 3 toppings for £XX, 5 toppings for £xx and let people decide.
Also, offer pizzas where you can have different halfs, e.g one half ham and pineappe, one half meat feast. I love eating out for pizza but me and OH like completely different toppings. One pizza each is too much so if we order one pizza for us to share, one of us has to compromise on favourite toppings.

My OH loves pizza with bolognaise on it (and cheese).

I like pizza with mushroom, sweetcorn, red onion and pineapple.

Good luck, I hope it's a great success.  :)

Another one for Thin base but with cheese, tuna prawns, anchovies (only a small amount!).
I tend to buy for home cook the sainsbury stuffed crust cheese feast and then add tuna, shrimps and a bit more cheese. Yes I know - more topping than base :-D

Yet another for the thin base, fairly plain cheese and tomato for me.

Tesco do a ham, mushroom and mascarpone (not mozzarella) pizza that I lurve!

No idea whether there are legal reasons you can't do this, but the Pizza Express pizzas with the hole in the middle filled with salad seem very popular every time I go in there, so perhaps some sort of lower fat option?

I like mine with thin base, bbq sauce instead of the usual tomato. topping = cheese, bbq chicken, red onion and mixed peppers

Thin base for me too although I like the cheese filled crust ones. My m-i-l used to make pizza with cheese incorporated in the base, v tasty. Fave topping for me is American hot but Paddy's Pizza sounds yummy- can you use bought for the base ?

I'm very picky with my pizzas and the following 2 are my favourite

4 cheese pizza, with lots of blue cheese and marscapone

Fruit pizza - banana, pineapple and strawberry(had that a lot in Greece)

Quite like having parma ham on the 4 cheese at times..
I like thin crust pizza. Can handle a stuffed crust every now and then.

There is a pub near mine which sells pizza, they do their own mixes, though they all do make your own design too.
Have a takeaway option too.
Calzone works as well - meat and a cheese only option would be good.

Thinking also pecan's too would work

In NZ I used to get 'hell' pizza. My first fav was chicken, brie & cranberry sauce. My second fav was salmon, cream cheese and capers. Yum :)

When my kids were younger i would buy a base make some toppings and they all built their own. Some close friends came to tea and I did the same it went down really well.

Same friends this year i did a build your own dessert after a BBQ, tall glasses, ice cream, fruit compote sauce, flakes, crusher merigne (SP) custard cold those twisty buiscits with chocolate in, fruit - we were stuffed but it was wounderful.

Pizza- Cheese, mushroomn, cashews & pepperami!
