My thoughts are with them. I got caught in some flooding around Oxford a few years ago. Very very scary and i was able to drive away and come home. Cant imagine the upset of the poeple who's homes and businesses have been ruined.
Also RIP to the Policeman who died after the bridge burst its banks and carried him away

RIP!  Feel so much for his 4 children.

Hopefully my family in Carlisle are fine as it seems to be bearing up under the weather.  Luckily my family who used to live in Kendal are no longer with us.

I remember about 5 years ago when I was driving in Stockport and the roads were literally lifting up in front of me, it was extremely scary.

We were taking our 2 flatcoats to Keswick today for a long weekend and planning to do my Christmas shopping there :-(

Feel so very sorry for everyone affected by the floods.

Hope Sam-Jo and her family and dogs are ok.

My elderly uncle and cousins live there we haven't heard anything so assume they are ok.

Workington is a little bigger than a Village ;-)
It is awful just the same though. Traffic has been at a stand still with the bridge that the poor policeman was washed away with and the foot bridge both down the only other bridge over the river that would take you in that direction is also in an unstable condition. Going out the other main road towards Carlisle and or Penrith takes you towards Cockermouth and Keswick so the west of the county has been rather cut off today and it is going to take some conciderable time to sort out as the railway bridge is also under threat from the river.
It was rather strange today watching this all being on the news knowing that those helicopters where flying overhead outside.
Thoughts and Prayers for Bill Barker and his family.

My daughter and partner have been flooded downstairs in Ulverston and her car has about six inches of water standing in it, but it could have been so much worse they and their cats are all ok thank goodness.
