The book of the bitch recommends that breeders send there pups to new owners at seven weeks, i understand that some breeds are just not ready this early. What age do others send theirs?

It depends on the breed size, with our large breed we lets ours go at between 8- 10 weeks, but toy breeds don't usually go until 12 weeks.

Most medium sized breeds will be around 7-8 weeks but toy and giants vary.  Breed clubs are the best source of information for what is correct practice in their breed and of course knowledgable breeders will know when they have a pup or two in a litter which aren't quite ready to go at the same time as others

Our breed club states at least 7 weeks.  I poersonally allow pups to go from the weekend after they are 7 weeks, having them tattooed and wormed at 7 weeks.

Definitely depends on breed. My Malinois tend to go at 7½ weeks of age, prefer before 8 weeks. Papillons (if I ever have any to actually sell -so far not) my mentor says absolutely not before 12 weeks.

Not before 8 weeks.

My vet recommends 7 weeks as being the best age for the pup, so it does seem to be a usual practise.

Mine go from 8 weeks, although with the Chihuahuas I usually hold them back until they're 12 weeks.
