Dave and i have had a couple of days off work just enjoying each others company and today we went to the local Thai resteraunt for the express lunch..Dave recieved a call from a work mate to tell him a meeting had been called at work and it was announced that the brand new site that he moved to in may will be closing and his job along with 699 others will be lost! we are stunned angry upset we both gave up a lot and relocated to here...Ben is in his final year doing his exams ready for the Army in September...i have to stay here until he finishes whilst dave could end up anywhere...its all over the news now that Erricson are closing down and the jobs are going to Genoa! so maybe i might be living there in a years time! who knows all i do know is that im angry and upset and trying hard to support Dave who is at the moment stunned beyond words...we were not going to mention it to ben until christmas when his first round of exams are over but as its all over the news we have just had a family meeting in which my tough 15year old cried and hugged Dave ..god when will it end?

Oh I am so sorry, thats awful! I worked at a place where they closed down the site here, and moved across country. We all lost our jobs, it was horrible. I didnt want to move to the other side of the country, so I stayed here. But loosing the income was very hard (both my mom and I worked at the same place, so we lost all income for a bit)

So sorry.........I hate it when life comes along and pulls the rug from under you like that.
Easy words to say here, but, when a door closes it means a new begining starts with a new one opening.

I am sorry to hear your news - my husband has just found a job after 3 months of unemployment - It was tough going, but we have survived - and we were there for each other

So sorry. (((( HUGS ))))
and we were there for each other I hope I do not sound patronising but I think this is ever so important. I saw a program on TV relating to the recession here in Ireland and that many couples split up due to fights over their financial situation :(.
i will stand by Daves side through thick and thin he has helped me through tough times and i have told him i dont care where we live as long as we are together x
i love him more everyday we are together. Sickening i know but its true x
So sorry, what a disaster with all that moving chaos aswell!!!
I'm glad that you have each other, just support him as you are, he's going to feel terrible even though it is not his fault at all, with you stood strongly at his side it will keep him focused.
I hope there is soon a new job where ever it may be and that your son will also be able to focus on his studies. These things only make us stronger.
What a horrible time for you all.
having taken time to think about whats going on i dont actually see it as a bad thing..i mean in a years time the dogs and myself could be living just an hour away from Portafino..on the med! or in Dublin a stones through across the irish sea from my beloved Anglesey! so both have plus points..however i will have to stay put until Ben finishes school and goes off to Harrogate Army college...so maybe i will be apart from Dave for a while but we lived apart for 7 years until October last year so it will be like the old days. ooh a bed all to myself!!i will need to start looking into what i need to do to sort out the dogs passports etc...anyone any idea?
I am so sorry in our industry we are about 300,000 down - construction. We arent over the recession yet and more will be going. But to hear the news that way you did is really unforgivable.
My really best wishes and I hope that you will be able to get something again soon.
I wish the politicians would work harder together to help our workers instead of fighting each other!
Id also be very proud of a son that shows his love and care of his Dad you must be a very strong loving family.
Bens dad is dead but Dave has taken on the father role and Ben is really proud of him..over tea Ben was saying he could come home on leave and fly to us in italy...its cheaper than a train from yorkshire to nuneaton.....oh and hotter lol this is a blip in our lives but we are remaining positive and supporting each other x

My husband was made redundant in the summer due to 'reorganisation' within the company. He'd worked there for 25 years in a branch office and was always busy so it came as a bit of a shock to say the least. All the staff were summoned into the head office then marched up the street to a church where they were told of the reorganisation!! He applied for a few jobs but when word got out of what was going on he was more or less head hunted and is now enjoying a new challenge and getting treated far better than he did before! We have certainly come out the other end by supporting each other, listening to each other and giving each other a shoulder to cry on when we needed it.

Regards Pet passports you only need them about a month before going as they can't travel until a month after the Rabies shots, but should you want to bring them back to UK you need to start things at least 7 months before wanting to re-enter UK.
You need to contact the embassies of any countries you are going to/through for any other regulations re bringing in dogs, and some countries have restrictions on breeds.
thankyou for this info
will contact them as soon as i know whats happening here but it wont be for a while yet
