Hi, Can anyone tell me where I could find out which open shows have JW classes for next year?

Hi Paula, all Open Shows would count for JW points if there are classes for your breed.

Sorry, but maybe I didn't make myself clear, It's not the points that I'm after, There is a  separate JW class at some open shows (just for those who have gained their junior warrant) that if you are one of the lucky 5 (i think) you qualify for a JW competition. I'm not too clear on the details myself as we are new to showing but I hope someone will have a clue what I mean. :-)

As far as I'm aware the list for 2010 isn't out yet, but this is for 2009

Right so that means we can enter one next year with Inka, so which shows will have it.

Oh thank you Silver.  I did try to find it on the KC site but like almost every other time I search for something on there..I can't find it! :-(
I would imagine they will have an updated list for next year in the new year, but I suppose I could contact the secretaries of the shows that I would like to enter and ask if they will be doing it and what date etc.

I do know that once you have made it into a final 5 at a show you can't enter another, so I will have to look closely at the closing dates, as I don't want to waste money entering them all if we make it through in the first show (wishful thinking, Ha), but I also don't want to miss a closing date if we get binned at every one (much more likely) LOL!! :-)

You're welcome :) It's usually the same show societies that hold them every year :) I only said that as a caution because I know the South West heat changed as of this year - though I would imagine that was to make it fairer, as it's the only heat down here and it used to be up towards Bristol, so an awfully long way for those down Cornwall way!

I'd go ahead and enter them all (unless he qualifies) anyway - as you can see closing dates will be similar because they're all August or September! If memory serves correctly they also pick a 6th as a "reserve", and if you are 6th then you can still go ahead and enter future JW heats until you qualify "properly" (first 5)? Sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong!

Bo hoo, my loss is your gain as I am  in Bristol.  I woudln't normally go that far for an Open show :(  Exeter being the Limit in that direction, so expect I won't be entering.

Wonder if some of the Midland ones aren't closer.

Im sure there was a list in a recent kennel gazette, I might be wrong but will check when I get back in an hour or so.

ETA: Brainless....I think the JW heat is at Exeter in the Matford Centre for one of the multiple societies that use it.

now that is do-able.

I was going to say, it is one of the Exeter/Matford shows :)

(Actually makes no odds to me, I'm as near to Clevedon as I am to Exeter :-D)
