looking to find somewhere to take my gsd for hip scoring .....who do you use? .....any one close to nottinghamshire ,what sort of price will i be paying?

my girl will be 1 on this friday ( 13th lol ) so i want to get it done asap

I use one in Dewsbury W Yorkshire, have been going there since 2000 and find him very good. He has never been more than 2 points off the score when he guesses. Very resaonable and uses sedation so you are in and out very quickly.

still looking for a good vet for hipscoring, Dewsbury is better for me, as my own vet is in Dewsbury (Richmonds) what would be the approx cost?

lol, and there's me thinking i can't find a good vet for hipscoring, and i find out my vet does them anyway! D'oh! Will have to get the boys booked in then, thanks white lilly!

:) its going to be about 90mins on the motaway for us but ,will only use some1 that says their good :) ....we go monday ....god i feel sick thinking about it lol ...fingers crossed she will have good hips ! but i will know soon enough :) x

You really need to do the elbows too the rate of elbow dysplasia rivals that of hip dysplasia these are the stats from OFA for Gsd for 2008 Total 1635

My friends in GSD's in Derby and Notts got to Mick Gilliard at Nantwich vets, I can highly recommend him as he used to be my regular vets for 15 yrs as well as the guy who did my own GSD's many yrs ago.

I've had a couple of schips done at Glenthorne by John Goodyear in Burton on trent but I'm having them scored for my own personal information rather than a breed specific problem, plus of course checking there's no sign of legg perthes disease in our lines.

mike gilliard is going over to the states to train in the penn hip scheme overthere and to hopefully try to introduce it over here !

Pennhip never caught on over here it was cost prohibitive and the numbers in their database are painfully low I don't know any breeders who use that
