Am gobsmacked !!! Good old Mr Cowell, let's get rid of the strongest competition...
He has been whinging for weeks how bad Jedward are, and then when he had the opportunity to get rid... sends it to deadlock !!
Well, he won't be out of pocket in the long run will he... what a complete farce !!!
I won't be adding to his ratings on a weekend in future.... better things to do... :-(

Gabrielle

I'm possibly on my own here but I didn't like Lucie. Even more so after her 'act' last week when she tried to make herself sound like Stacey when being interviewed. Has no personality of her own so tried to steal someone elses.
Jedward really thought they were gonners this week, their poor little faces.
- By sandrah Date 08.11.09 22:39 UTC
I think Simon made the right decision tonight.  He was right when he said neither were going to win, he could have made the easy decision and saved Lucie, but he took it to deadlock and let the public vote decide.  If it had been Joe or one of the other front runners, he would have saved them.

He knows the twins are fantastic publicity for the show, he doesn't want them to win, but they keep the show as headline news all week.

sorry olivia, i will pay up i promise,
i APOLOGISE

but will admit i think lucie did sing the wrong song in the sing off
- By JeanSW Date 08.11.09 23:07 UTC
I still don't want Danyl to win, I don't like his style. But, once Jedward does get voted out, along with Lloyd, I do think it will be a close run race.

Ollie, Joe and Jamie all have good voices.  And Stacey has won the hearts of the public, by not having any airs and graces.
- By scarlettwynter [gb] Date 09.11.09 08:56 UTC
The X Factor is a farce. Simon has criticised the dreadful twins time after time. What does he do when given the chance to get rid of them?! Chickens out of it. Simon Cowell is a disgrace and a b****y fool!!! I don't know f I will watch the rest of the series after this nonsense.
- By mastifflover Date 09.11.09 09:05 UTC

> I'm possibly on my own here but I didn't like Lucie.

You're not alone, I'm not keen on her, but can't put my finger on it. I thought she was amazing in the first audition with a lovely 'innocent' look to her, but when she came back she had changed her image and seemed different. I knew, as soon as she started to sing last night that she wouldn't get Simons' vote, I really don't think the songs picked for her have helped her either, she doesn't seem to have any personality showing through, maybe she'd be better coming back next year, a year more mature may do her wonders. She has got a great voice there but I don't think it's consistant.

I was suprised at Jedward in the sing-off, they sounded the best they ever had done, still don't think they should be in the comp for thier singing but they do have the entertainment factor (even if they do annoy me).
- By rjs [gb] Date 09.11.09 09:27 UTC
Thinking back, hasn't every sing off gone to the public vote since this series started?

Must admit I did think that John and Edward would go tonight when they were in the bottom two. They cannot sing, they were flat when they started in the sing off, they can entertain but is that what the x factor is all about this year?  Keeping John and Edward in must be boosting the ratings, getting press attention and lining someones pockets!! I actually feel that the longer those two are in this competition the more stupid the judges look. If they do go all the way and win (heaven help us) who is seriously going to listen or buy their music? I think there are an awful lot of little kids voting.

I also liked Lucie early on but last week and this week when she was speaking after she had sung she sounded like Stacey!! I didn't know her song at all but she was better than those two!
- By mahonc Date 09.11.09 10:32 UTC
i think john and edward are fantastically entertaining!! no they cant sing at all but i look forward to watching them each week. in fact when they do get kicked off it wont be as interesting.
and in fairness it was the public who voted for them so its the publics fault not simons
- By gwen [gb] Date 09.11.09 10:44 UTC
Didn't watch it this week, but there was an interesting article in the Mail on Friday or Saturday I think, which said that the whole Jedward thing about Simon hating them was a set up, that they had been pre-auditioned before the  filmed ones, and had Simon's go ahead as a sure-fire big phone voting money spinner.
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 09.11.09 10:50 UTC

>had Simon's go ahead as a sure-fire big phone voting money spinner.

And that's the whole point of the show - to spur the public into voting, which earns the money for the TV company. If it was just a judges' choice programme there'd be very little revenue so, just as with Big Brother and Strictly and IACGMOOH, the more the public can get fired up the louder the cash registers ring ...
- By Honeybee [gb] Date 09.11.09 11:06 UTC

> Simon Cowell is a disgrace and a b****y fool!!!

For a start the twins are still in the show because they got more votes than Lucie - so it is the public who have kept them in! And I don't think for a second Simon is a fool, he  obviously knows that having the twins in the show is getting the media attention which is what he wants.
- By Carrington Date 09.11.09 12:15 UTC
I think he did the right thing, I really do.

John and Edward have been the highlight of the show for all the wrong reasons perhaps, but they are the show at the moment, they keep the X Factor in the newspapers and they keep us all talking. Jamie is the only one for me that I am remotely interested in. Lucie was never going to win, she has a beautiful voice no doubt but no stage presence at all, she is very boring to watch with no real emotion apart from being Miss Nice, all I can say is she is very nice, you have to have presence, you have to, she just aint got it.

Simon knew that, he even commented on it in previous weeks, so he didn't care enough to fight for her. As much as I feel John and Edward are utter rubbish (though I think their sing off was very entertaining the best they have done) I would rather watch them than Lucie.

I think he did the right thing. The best entertainer and singer will win the show in the end and Lucie wasn't it, so does it really matter. We are looking for the X factor, that does not necessarily mean the best voice.

Now if he had done that with Jamie I would be very upset, but in this inst, it doesn't bother me, so don't understand all the holla ballooo.

anyone notice how  Lucie was sniggering and had a grunt and seemed to be acting like Stacey after her Saturday nights performance , that put me off her a little even tho she sings good , i couldnt see much of a personality only an imatation of stacey,

Yes, hubby and I commented on that straight away, it was embarrassing to watch. Rachel did it too.

Danyl is also acting - it's not the real him. He's been told to tone it down to become more likeable, but it's not real.  Though I do like his demeaner and his new hairstyle I know I'm being completely scammed.

yes and she did it last week too!

I don't know what to make of Danyl, last week he showed no emotion in voice, eyes, body at all, a bit better this week when he got into the song but he had his hand in his pocket while he was singing. It's as if he is just going on stage and singing without putting any emotion into at all. Don't know, don't get him.

All the acts are apparently pre auditioned by production, the chosen ones get through to the filmed auditions from what I'm told.
- By chelzeagirl [gb] Date 09.11.09 13:24 UTC
the twins are funny even tho their voices are bad but their perfomances do have you smiling and cringing at the same time , their just so All over the place its funny to watch them ,

I think Black eyed peas were absolutely fabulous! I love that song they did, iv been playing that in my car the last few weeks, Fergie has a realy Great voice, Anyone think she looks like the women who plays Meredith Grey in Greys anatomy?
- By rocknrose [gb] Date 09.11.09 14:05 UTC
Yes, if you weren't watching the TV at the time, you would have thought it was Stacey speaking. It was a pretty good impression and one that did  Lucie no favours.
thought the twins were gonners last night but Simon Cowell is a very shrewd man when it comes to ratings etc.

Last episode of Doc Martin as well :( really going to miss that.
- By perrodeagua [gb] Date 09.11.09 16:31 UTC
I was so excited when I saw the twins in the last two.  sorry, supposedly this is a singing contest there's nowhere in the world that they are better.  I will not be watching again.

All that Simon wants is money, money, money and he knows now that more people will be watching this pathetic joke of a programme.

As for Danyl he never shows emotion in his eyes, never did at the first audition.  He actually reminds me of photographs of murderers who always have souless eyes and nothing in them.

I think thats a bit harsh,  the poor bloke has been compared to Hitler, and now a Murderer!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And all his crime is , he is on a talent competition!!!!!!

- By tina s [gb] Date 09.11.09 17:28 UTC
i think simon put it to public vote because he couldnt bare the flak if he got rid of twins all by himself! imagine what louis would have said? i think he just chickened out

I totally agree you do cringe when you watch them , but this is a singing show , if it's just entertainment that the public wants surley they would have been better in Britains got Talent !

Did you notice that Rachel tried the same thing when they 'transformed' her?  I find Stacey incredibly irritating, so at least there is only one of her now!

Totally Agree they would be better off on BGT, They wont win x factor  and are just knocking out real good singers in the end the public will just vote for who sings the best,
but its a shame that real talent is being knocked out for pure entertainment,

OMG - where do you live that you have people like her next door.  I think I would be moving if I had her next door to me.  she comes across as totally harmless but after hearing someone compare her to Perry, Kevin the teenagers sidekick I hear that every time she opens her mouth!
- By chelzeagirl [gb] Date 10.11.09 13:03 UTC

yeah but they do make you laugh i agree BGT would have been the better place for them,

i wonder if the boys feel guilty in any way , i know if it was me who kept getting thu id be happy about it in one way but i would more feel awfully guilty about the people im living with thu this comp , the fact that they can really sing i did feel a prang of "oh well" if it was me this week id have stepped down from the show before i'd have let lucie leave ,
after all its just a bit of fun for these kids,

lets all have a cyber prayer they dont win it , can you imagine the xmas no one this year :-O , it really dont bare thinking about,

The other night Paul O Grady said she sounded like Peggy from Hi De Hi. When you think about Peggy and her Miss Cathcart they do sound similar LOL

3000 complaints about Saturdays show apparantly.
- By shadbolts [gb] Date 10.11.09 13:36 UTC
I don't actually watch the show but my kids do, but from what I've read and been told there doesn't actually seem to be any particularly brilliant singers / performers this year.  So just a thought but is Cowell trying to boost the ratings and make money that way as he knows that it is unlikely that he will get a winner that will make a lot of money for him by selling records?

Catherine Tate could have invented the 'Stacey' character!!  :)  I am just thinking that if she actually won, what an embarrassment her overseas interviews would be!!  I cringe every time I hear her speak.........

How very unkind!
She is quite young, and is not perhaps the most eloquent.
I would not be embarrased, rather proud as her singing is beautiful.

Karen I agree.  In fact it's the contrast between her rather nervous 'teen speak' and her confident singing that I find quite appealing.

It's interesting how some of their accents completely disappear when they sing

My OH leaves the room and the kids and I watch together, we groan, we moan, I say rude things, but several weeks later I forget who they all are!  We sometimes vote but only when it gets to the very end.  I'm afraid they don't make too much money from us, and we don't buy the singles either...

Sorry,Im going to go off topic here, but the above comment made me think 'I'm more worried about our Prime Minister who can't spell check!' (In terms of what is thought of us overseas ;))

She can sing, you are right, and she seems a nice girl too!

but she sounds Darft lol maybe lessons on how to control her behaviour would help,
and tone herself down a little i think shes just excited like a kid in a candy shop ,

i chat badly and i do it to get out of all sorts of situations , when i had my son 11 years ago i remember the Docter doing my C Section had to tell me to Shut up talking as i was chatting nervously All the way thu it lol, i couldnt help it i could see the reflection on the silver lights above my body and it was getting redder and redder and that was my body they were cutting into and my blood i could see their so i was chating myself out of a scary situation trying to take me mind off what was going on,

thats why i have so much trouble with dentists i cant chat my way thu it, but if im having a local anisetic for anything i will want someone next to me to chat a load of rubbish to just to divert my mind from whats going on,
im a rambler ( tho i dont sound like her i think hers is nerves)and shes the same shes an over the top rambler, BUT WHEN SHE SINGS ITS LIKE A DIFFERANT PERSON, bit like that boy with the stutter

same here (im a bad speller) and i do normaly spell check everythingthing on here for my posts but iv had a problem with my my pc latley and everytime i put up my microsoft word to type my posts on their first so i get them looking readable for you lot (well alittle bit anyway) my pc starts shutting down and my anitvirus turns off so iv left it alone, my sons friend did clear a virus on my pc but theirs things missing now, and i have to wait till he gets back from Germany to get it sorted for me,
hes in Germany and Norway this week and next Dancing out their in one of their shows,
it costing a blooming foutune (robley cant spell that either lol) but heck i love my son but his bleeding us dry right now and we're trying to get the house decorated for xmas, iv got a polish builder in anyone had one? god the man can work and's doing jobs in here i been quoted thousands for, and hes did a great job, im ashamed to say i could never have afforded to get this work done by an English builder i had quotes before, and was well out of our reach so i had no choice the way things are right now but to get someone else in or things where just never have got done,
sorry had to edit again to say its not like im paying this polish guy cheaply he's had £700.00 for tiling a small bathroom and painting and flooring my passage,
i was quoted 3000 to tile a small bathroom by an English guy from the yellow pages , and this guy done it for £350, it is a very small bathroom and the guy put in my shower for nothing more than a 4 pack of beer,
