all sounds normal, all mine have some degree of coat loss after whelping, some are mild and some look horendous, all bitches are different but no doubt she will be back in full bloom in a few weeks or so.

Most bitches drop their coat after feeding a litter and most cavaliers end up smooth coats with rat tails....it grows back :-) but I dont ususally get mine back into full show coat for about 6-8 months.

Perfectly normal - Mine went completely bald on her back and bum, hair was coming our in clumps and she looked like we'd been hacking at her fur with a razor!!! It all grew back really well though, I think their coats are amazing when they grow back after having a full blow out, they look lovely. :)

A couple of our Pom's used to go totally bald around the neck at about 9 weeks after birth, they used to look awful, but it didn't take long for their coats to be back to normal thankfully,
i agree totally normal :)

Gertrude Pug lost all of her undercoat and most of her top coat after the litter. The pups are now 17 weeks old, and Gertrude's coat is back better than ever, I always expect a degree of coat loss with the pugs (much less with the american cockers) but this is the first time I have had such a change with the new coat - she has grown back a much paler fawn, and with a finer, silkier hair. For the few weeks after the coat loss and before new gorwth came in she did look absolutely dreadful, patchy and rough.
Thanks all you guys for your advice. I really appreciate it. Took Tootsie to the vets and got her check-up done. The shock near killed me last night seeing her hair loss, I had expected a bit of hair loss but didn,t expect so much! I do love this site. Thanks again xoxo

My toy breed, after whelping, often take 6 months to get a "proper" coat back. They actually look quite scraggy by the time pups leave home.
I feed quality food, and they don't end up with awful body condition, but the coat!!!
i was like you mizzpiggy ...was ready for some coat loss but when my springer had her 1st litter ,she lost nearly all her coat :( ,i couldnt take her out without putting a coat on her she would shiver ,it took a good 6m for it to get back to full coat !
