We called the lady, she came the next day. I wasn't there but apparently she was very nice, and reasonable, it cost the same as the only vet nearby was going to charge and that was for her to come out to the house.

We lived 50 miles away from where she is based.

My boss where I work as a secretary part time took on a rescue dog (not from a centre might I add!) about five weeks ago. Just over a fortnight ago I said that she was looking abnormally fat so I arranged for this lady to come out the next day, and she is expecting 6 - 8 (although as you will probably know this is just an estimate) in a fortnight or so.......that was over two weeks ago now and we are all waiting in suspense!

I joke with him that he has value for money with me (I only started there the week before they got this dog) as he has a secretary and kennel maid in one (I have worked in boarding and show kennels in the past)!

she took her for a scan and shes having 6 maybe more pups ,shes on day 30 today so shes now half way there :) xx

Awww lovely, who did your friend use for the scanning in the end?

I'm on my days off now so I am on tenterhooks now waiting for my boss to call, he called yesterday whilst I was in the bank about a work issue and I couldn't answer right away so was in a right flap! :-)

She won't be long though, it is difficult as no one knows exactly when she was mated. I am not in work until tuesday but I have a feeling I will be going over there before then!

I have used http://www.canine-pd-scan.co.uk/ four times-
1st time scanned as having 9 and 9 were born
2nd time scanned as 8 and 8 born
3rd time to crowded to count but guessed at 10 plus, - 10 born
4th time scanned with 5 and 7 born

so bang on 3 out of 4 times and the 4th bitch is a broad ribbed bitch and carries puppies right under the ribs.
I have also used her to scan bitches after whelping to check there empty.
Luckily she lives only 4 miles from so i go to the kennels.
I would recommend her 100%

Just to let you know that she had six pups through the night, so I did miss it!

It's ok though as long as they and mum are all healthly which they appear to be, all feeding and a good size :-)
