Hello everyone
I have a 14 week staffie pup and today he has developed the sneezes. When he sneezes whiteish gunk comes out his nose, which before I can wipe away he licks off!!! gross!! He is absolutley fine in himself with no temp, eating fine etc. NO coughing or wretching. None of our other dogs have been or are ill or showing any signs of sneezing.
He did go to the vets yesterday for a health check as we are moving him on shortly. On the way to the vets he was in the back of the car. The only thing I can think is at the weekend my husband did "Shake and Vac" the car - you know to get rid of some of those doggy smells!!. He did hoover all the shake and vac up but maybe the pup somehow has inhaled a trace of it and it is causing some irritation???
Any comments appreciated. If it has not cleared in the morning or he develops any other symptoms he will be straight to the vets.
Thanks

There is a lo9t of Kennel Cough around the whole country, this is what he likely has. When you make the vet appointment tell them you suspect kennel cough, and they will come out to see you, as it can be a nasty infection for dogs that are already unwell.

Thanks for that.
By late afternoon yesterday his sneezing had settled but I still phoned the vet. I explained the "Shake and Vac" and he said that if the snezing did not continue and there were no other signs ie coughing, temp, etc. then the shake and vac was the probable cause.
Well today he has been fine with no ther sneezing so have put it down to the shake and vac. Needless to say we will not be using that in any rooms where the pups may go again and my husband has been banned from using it in the car!!! :-) Might be something for you all to note - Shake and Vac not too animal friendly!!!

Hi Staffie it's best not to use Febreze either, both can cause breathing and skin trouble.
