I've been feeding AG for yonks, but got caught out on caravan hols this year, we didn't take enough, bad mother :(

So had to make emergency trip to supermarket and found Harringtons Complete, tried it, liked it, poo's the same, coat still good, usual 'is my bowl empty' 'more please' so basically couldn't tell the difference, except THE PRICE.

Now Tesco and Asda only do it in squiddley little bags i.e. 2 kg and 3kg, I've been and bought it through UK PetFood Online (can't do links I'm an old baggage) it's £18.99 for 15kg no delivery charge if you spend more than £40, so I got 3 sacks for about the same price I was paying for 2 sacks of AG from Berriwood. :)

I think most agree if it works then fair then it suits your doggies.

I had a quick look at the ingredients.. for me it is a yikes!! BUT some folks dogs do well on higher %s of rice and maize. It would be more of a mixer to me to be honest. I had a quite look at it

Ingredients
* Maize, Turkey Meat Meal (min 14%), Rice, Porridge Oats, Meat Meal, Peas (min 4%), Beet Pulp, Fat

I often wonder if you have to use more of the cheaper foods over the what would appear better content ones.. ( excluding Burns of course as that is my pet hate at the price of it)

I don't use Harringtons, but also recommend UK PetFood Online.  It's brilliant to be able to get sacks of food with no delivery charge.

been using UK Pet food myself for about a year.  The guy is actually OK. couple cock ups but sorted quickly.  Cheapest around for Wafcol S&P Puppy.

I've got 3 x 11yr olds that I want less protein for and 3 under 3 yrs that I need more protein for, so I add my protein in the shape of fresh cooked fish and chicken and the odd egg plus veggies. So I suppose you could say it's the base of their diet but it's good that they'll all eat it on it's own and don't have any problems.

It was delivered today, to my place of work saves any hassle of not being in when the courier arrives, strange though it was in AG boxes, do AG make Harringtons?

UK Petfood Online looks like a really good site for all sorts and the no delivery charge for over £40 is excellent

Sensible man cos if that's what keeps the costs down he can pack in what ever he likes :)

How very strange!

I have a bag of Harringtons from Asda - the 5Kg bag.  This lists Turkey Meat Meal (26%) as the first ingredient, followed by Maize, Porridge Oats, Rice etc  so quite a big difference!

My youngest bitch is on it as she was like a lunatic on speed on everything else I'd tried and a walking toast rack from running it all off!   She's nice and calm on this and starting to get a little covering on her bones and keeping the muscle tone.  After reading the bag I felt it was very similar to JWB.

Think an e-mail is in order, either the bag or the ingredients list on the website are wrong ;) will update as soon as I receive a reply.

Can't remember what one I took it off but it was straight off their site...   The Fish4dog is another one all over the place with their ingredients may have settled down now as it was a while back I didn't all my calculating :-)

It is on their site, this is why I'm trying to find their e-mail address - the site link isn't working for me  but that's a minor problem - I'll contact them somehow  mwa hah ha :-D

I'll be interested to know what response you get, but I have to say my 6 are all more than happy with the food so therefore I am too :)

Thank you for this, ive managed to get the dogs food for about £9 cheaper than what I was paying direct, but of course that bought me under the price for free delivery so have ordered the cat a sack of food too, not his usual one but I hope he likes it !!!! It will last him a few months though so next time will have to order two sacks of dog food.  I did find the site hung quite a bit, not sure if it was my browser or if it normally does it.

Have now received a reply stating that owing to market forces the food has changed and the website is correct for the ingredients in the new bags.   I apparently have an old bag with the original recipe :(

They state that the new recipe is just as high quality and that the total meat content remains the same.

I have replied stating that IMO the new recipe food is significantly changed and will no longer be suitable for my dog as the second meat ingredient is unspecified as to amount and source, I have also pointed out that there will be many others in my position who will be searching for a reliable suitable food.

Very unhappy now as I have to start looking for another food which will suit my little pocket rocket :( :(
