whats going on with these 2, why are people voting for them, i tell you why... because everyone knows simon hates them, this is not about having a singing talent, its a farce

john & edward got to go next week for sure
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 01.11.09 20:45 UTC
Of course it's a farce - talent shows are always a farce, never to be taken seriously. The fact that people actually spend money voting is the most astonishing thing.
- By spaniel mad [in] Date 01.11.09 20:49 UTC
something i will never do is vote for anyone, i guess its bringing in money everyone voting for them, there has been a lot said about x factor in the press this week about it being a rigg, i am now beginning to wonder along with 1000's of others
- By suejaw Date 01.11.09 20:52 UTC
Just made a similar comment on my FB about the same thing. If it were a talent contest then the twins wouldn't of even got to the finals..
Simon dictates at the end of the day who can go through, he doesn't like them, but allowed it to bring in the votes and create much talk about the show which its done..
- By spaniel mad [in] Date 01.11.09 20:57 UTC
didnt expect that result tonight but next week surely justice should be done unless someone is spending a lot of money voting for the twins
- By Debussy [gb] Date 01.11.09 21:43 UTC
The producers have a choice: have a fair show where the judges decide who performs well enough to go through, or have an unfair system where the public decide (ie. young girls vote for the lad they fancy, different regions vote for their representative, etc.) and the show (and BT) makes a mint.  They prefer making loads of dosh so they can't complain when mediocre acts are put through.
- By HuskyGal Date 01.11.09 21:57 UTC
It's "Chico time" all over again really isn't it!
To be fair, I'd always thought that when X-factor started out it was very carefully worded so that it wouldn't necessarily be about the voice but the charisma, stage presence, look etc etc too.
We have quite a few big bands and stars who aren't actually very good singers but can 'put on a show' Robbie Williams being one.
It's definitely not a 'whose the best singer' competition but as the name suggests who has commercial appeal.I think the show has probably had its day now. (I'll still be watching though!! GO JAMIE FRO!!!!!)

I would love him to get to the top.  He is a real performer and plays to the crowd.  Louie keeps making barbed remarks about him being a pub singer, just to get back at Simon.

Don't know what the fuss is about though, Tom Jones started off in working men's clubs, I remember my aunt saying that she had seen him, and when I saw what a pokey little place it was, I was surprised.  Gotta start somewhere!

Jamie has the ability to pull the audience in, and that is a great part of peoples enjoyment.   I want him to win.  I'm an old rocker at heart!  :-)
- By sandrah Date 02.11.09 07:37 UTC
Loving Jamie too. I also think Olly is getting better week on week.

We always have this situation in the early shows, by the time it gets to the last three weeks the better ones come through and the novelty ones will go.

Songs from the movies next week, that should be good.
- By gembo [gb] Date 02.11.09 09:55 UTC

> Songs from the movies next week, that should be good.

Ooh! that will be good!

I agree, go Jamie!!!
- By Dogz Date 02.11.09 10:54 UTC
LOL............
I watch every week and love it.
Jamie is my out and out favourite too. Didn't expect such an agreement on here, maybe we are all of 'a certain age' or something like that.

Karen :)

that John and Edward remind me of the bother and sister group same differance , remember them,
their crowd pleasers they entertain by putting on a big show you have to admit although they cant sing you are still sitting wondering what they will do each week and even if the singings bad they do entertain,
i mean it is hard to sing and dance at same time and you gotta give it to these boys they are all over the place on that stage i'd LMAO if they won and id love to see simons face lol,

was wondering why the public never took to Rachel the poor girl she has a good voice but sadly something about her just has not grabbed the public what a shame,

i like Stacey she a proper nutter lol like the girl next door with a great voice,
- By Carrington Date 02.11.09 13:25 UTC
Simon and Co. generally say to contestants, "you just don't know how good you are :-)"  With John and Edward, it is you just don't know how bad you are! :-D :-D They are chronically terrible. They have got to be the worst contestants ever as they really can't sing or dance they are totally useless.

But they have me in stitches the Britney song where they did the necklace bit, I lauged all night long, as they are just so bad, I just laugh all the way through, that is why they are getting the votes, because they try and they are still rubbish, but they stand there smiling with skins as thick as rhinos. The moment they realise they are rubbish it is over.

I don't believe for one minute it is about Simon rubbishing them and voters feeling sorry for them, it is pure and simply because they try and they smile, the smile is the key, they put everything into it, you can see that they do, the fact that it is utter rubbish goes above everyones head, it's the belief they have in themselves, if I'm honest I can't wait for them to come on. :-D We love people why try in this country.

They may well get to the top 3 or 4, they are entertaining in that we are laughing at them, but I believe then common sense will take over and we will vote for the best singer.

It was a shame about Rachel she has a great voice, but obviously she had the entertainment factor missing, Lloyd IMO is terrible too. Jamie to win!!!!!
- By suejaw Date 02.11.09 14:04 UTC
My favourite is also Jamie!! He is just soo good at what he does.. I'm also a fan of Danyl too, but i feel he needs to lighten up a bit and relaxxxx..
Rachel, never really got her until last week when i thought yes, not bad as she actually seemed to be enjoying herself. She needed to smile a whole lot more, as she looked too tough and severe for this show.

As for those twins, well....
They have had me laughing so hard, just like Carrington i still think of their Britney rendition or attempt of and gets me giggling every time.
As for Same Difference last year, didn't like them, but they could actually sing, same for Chico, he had something likable about him. These boys, sorry for anyone who likes them, they have no talent in any department..They are a joke through and through.
- By ShaynLola Date 02.11.09 15:15 UTC Edited 02.11.09 15:18 UTC
I loved Jamie at the start but it's becoming apparent that he's a one-trick pony.  I bet he does another 'rock' number next week...and the week after.... Rachel was actually much more versatile as a singer so it's a real shame she's gone.

The twins are truly awful...but they'll probably have another few weeks grace before the public come to their senses.
- By crinklecut [gb] Date 02.11.09 15:25 UTC
I think John & Edward have to be the worst singers ever but I do enjoy watching them. Olly was my favourite at the beginning but I find him boring now. Jamie, on the other hand does it for me. With the way the voting is going this year - Who knows ?
I thought last nights sing off was total rubbish. Rachel was clearly the best but was voted off in favour of a lad who has never been able to put in a good performance whether ill or not.
- By perrodeagua [gb] Date 02.11.09 16:24 UTC
Olly to me is the only one who has any true vocal talent.  Danyl and Jamie in a way have nice voices but they are not strong and nothing special.  Danyl I don't like at all, it's something about his eyes, they show no feeling at all when he sings, they are rather souless a bit like his singing.
- By ShaynLola Date 02.11.09 17:42 UTC
I can't stand Danyl either!  I'd actually like to see him go before the twins as they're at least entertaining to watch (in a painful and cringeworthy sort of way). Danyl just strikes me as blah...no personality at all.
- By Oldilocks [ir] Date 02.11.09 18:14 UTC

I agree with you totally!  I have bought tickets to take my grand-daughters to see the X Factor live tour in February and the act that I am most looking forward to seeing is 'John and Edward', I never thought I would say that when first I saw them audition!  I think that Lucie, Joe and Jamie are the best singers and I think that little Lloyd gets the teenage girls' votes! :)  What is wrong with Olly's hair??  :)
- By ChristineW Date 02.11.09 18:48 UTC

> Rachel was actually much more versatile as a singer so it's a real shame she's gone.

Really?   I put her in the Anastacia/Heather Small camp - come up to the mike & blast the song out.   No softness or different tones to their voices.  'With or without you' starts off as a calm song & gains momentum, all she did was to sing it as loudly as she could.    I'm glad she's off.
- By Pinky Date 02.11.09 21:32 UTC
Nail on head as always :)
It's X-Factor not Britains got Talent

It's not about the talent, it's about the sale ability, the wow factor, the stage presence, the crowd pulling and boy do those two gooses have something, (must be good marketing and the stupidity of the voters cos they're lame) I mean we're talking about them for a start.

Ignore the little talentless morons don't discuss them and with luck they'll go away.

Now Jamie has something, Olly really has something and Joe has a perfect voice, every home should have a Stacy and Lucie a great voice too, so all in all the geeks will win, Simon will leave X-Factor for ever, and I'll be p'd off cos I like that sort of telly and don't like to see numpty's win but what can you do when JP is in charge
:(
- By Oldilocks [ir] Date 02.11.09 21:45 UTC

I have been racking my brains here...........JP?  JP?  JP? ..............Ah!!!......the penny eventually dropped!!  :)  :)

With a bang but you got there :) :) :)
- By HuskyGal Date 02.11.09 21:54 UTC
Shall we have a little punt on who the final three will be??
I would like it to be:               I suspect it will be:
Jamie Fro                               Jon and Dedward
Oily                                       Oily
Stacey                                   Lucy

I think Stacey is the weaker of the 'natural talents', and know that Lucy deserves the placing.... but I can't help loving the dappy Stacey :-)
- By perrodeagua [gb] Date 02.11.09 22:23 UTC
HG Oily, LOL!!!!  I want Olly to win.  Stacey, well she just has me in hysterics every time I see her, what a pick me up,

Are you saying that I need to stop lying about my age!

We won't tell if you won't ;)

But he didn't do 'rock' on Live Show 3, Live Show 2, or Bootcamp 2.  ????
- By Blue Date 02.11.09 23:34 UTC
Say it how it is Christine :-)  I agree though she could sing but seemed to lose it in the actual live show.

I quite like wee Joe :-)   Ok he looks a bit Pop lad but he can sing..
- By ShaynLola Date 03.11.09 07:00 UTC

>But he didn't do 'rock' on Live Show 3, Live Show 2, or Bootcamp 2.  ????

I was out of the country for bootcamp 2 so I'll take your word for it there but he's done a rock song every live show except the one where he sang a Christina Aguilera song and he did that in the style of a rock ballad!  Oh...and U2 on big band week?  He wasn't the only one who didn't do a typical big band song, granted, but that song definitely classifies as rock'n'roll in my book.
- By ChristineW Date 03.11.09 09:01 UTC

> Say it how it is Christine

Who do you think writes Simon's scripts?  ;-)

Actually, there was one week when Ben etc. was on (Was that a couple of years ago?) and as everyone sung, I commented to my sister what I thought and when it came round to Simon's comments he almost said exactly what I had, my sister just looked at me in disbelief!    I'm not making it up, it was actually quite funny!
- By sandrah Date 03.11.09 10:13 UTC
For the final three I would like to see.

Jamie
Olly
Stacey.

I think it will be
Olly
Joe
Stacey
- By Blue Date 03.11.09 10:43 UTC
Who do you think writes Simon's scripts?  ;-)

LOL, Yes or course I should have guessed  :-)   Your as bad as I am, I keep saying , " that isn't Simon's cup of tea".

Mind you I must have lost all contact with the chart world as I still can't believe Cheryl has No1 on Single and Album chart. She looks completely uncomfortable and I dont' think can sing much either.   The ad for her album features her single and song she only features on :-)  they must have faith her her album content..   So many good artists ( in the real sense of the word)  around to.
- By Carrington Date 03.11.09 11:10 UTC
Shall we have a little punt on who the final three will be??

Ok, I'm going for:

Jamie
Lucie
Joe

I hope that Danyl isn't there I have to turn away when he does his big notes I hate looking in his mouth at that huge tongue it makes me cringe. **shudder** I keep having to turn away, how superficial of me but I could never watch him live, I'd need a bucket. :-(
- By Honeybee [gb] Date 03.11.09 11:14 UTC

> I still can't believe Cheryl has No1 on Single and Album chart.

nor can I, just shows you don't have to be a great singer to be a successful artist, of course that is the point of the show to find people who the public take to not just good singers. That's why I can't understand why people are annoyed that the twins get through, if people find them fun they vote, it isn't a contest to find the best singer cos lots of popular artists aren't that good!
(no I haven't voted for the twins myself but they do put a smile on my face at least!)
- By Honeybee [gb] Date 03.11.09 11:18 UTC
I also think it's a shame people make quite cruel personal comments about these people, it's quite possible to say you don't like their singing or style without making nasty comments.
- By Dogz Date 03.11.09 13:06 UTC
I cant make my mind yet......
Joe will be there but I am not keen as he reminds of a Disney prince.
Jamie as he is my personal favourite.
The third is escaping me.

Karen :)
- By Dakkobear [gb] Date 03.11.09 13:45 UTC
I think the best singers are Joe, Lucie and Danyl (if he would stop faffing about and just sing!!) but I fall about laughing every time Stacey opens her mouth (as I think does Dermot as he always looks as if he is about to burst out laughing when he interviews her ) She reminds me of the rather large, over excited Nun on Sister Act :-D :-D Jon and Edward are entertainers not singers, I can see them being set up as the next Ant and Dec but if they want X-factor to be seen as a talent show then Jedward should be out soon :-D I find Jamie and Olly a bit samey every week although Olly is certainly the most improved of all the contestants I think. Given that Lucie would be in competition with Leona and Alexandra I think that Joe might win it this year!
- By Harley Date 03.11.09 14:48 UTC
I have no problems with Jamie always singing in Rock style - I wouldn't expect Black Sabbath to sing a ballad and I don't recall Frank Sinatra singing any Rock music so have no problems with contestants singing in the style that suits their voice.
- By Oldilocks [ru] Date 03.11.09 15:27 UTC

> I have no problems with Jamie always singing in Rock style - I wouldn't expect Black Sabbath to sing a ballad and I don't recall Frank Sinatra singing any Rock music so have no problems with contestants singing in the style that suits their voice.

Absolutely!  My top three are Lucie, Joe and Jamie!
- By ChristineW Date 03.11.09 16:35 UTC

>> I still can't believe Cheryl has No1 on Single and Album chart.
> nor can I,

Me, three!  I think that song is so weak lyrically & musically.   Just she's 'flavour of the month', I bet a lot of the sales would've been to men/boys.
- By Blue Date 03.11.09 16:54 UTC
I think the likes of Alexander out performed her, out sung and out sings her and has the confidence to perform. I just don't see that with Cheryl at all. she always has this nervous ackwardness about her LOL.... I take it you have not joined a queue for the silly shell dress she had on Saturday. Dear me.  I must be getting old.
- By Pinky Date 03.11.09 21:09 UTC

> I bet a lot of the sales would've been to men/boys.

Oooooooh, naughty naughty, the girl got there on her singing abilty surely ;)

After all JP put her there, the same as they will Johnward,Jedward, Jigward or what ever they are :(
- By spaniel mad [in] Date 08.11.09 20:55 UTC
no way ..... words fail me again, how is this crap surviving
- By ClaireyS Date 08.11.09 20:58 UTC
its stupid, cant believe Simon let it go to the public vote - whats the point in having judges !!!
- By spaniel mad [in] Date 08.11.09 21:05 UTC
simon is a pure to55er, he knew what he was doing, hes making sure the best competition are ditched
- By Dakkobear [gb] Date 08.11.09 21:15 UTC
I remember last year  Simon said that no one who had been in the bottom two ever won X-factor so I guess that lets Danyl out then - or has he changed his mind about that now. Lucie definitely didn't deserve to go, she is a very good singer but song choice has a lot to do with it sometimes and I don't think a lot of the GP would have heard the song she chose.
- By goldie [gb] Date 08.11.09 21:25 UTC
I will not watch the xfactor anymore out of principle.
That simon cowel is a complete idiot to put it to the vote...lucy should have won fair and square and he knows it.
- By HuskyGal Date 08.11.09 21:29 UTC
 !!!!!
Erm... did'nt Simon start the Judges voting session by saying to Dermot "Ok... tonight we are going to forget everything in the past and just vote on tonight's performance"

Then when asked to vote said "based on who I would like to see next week?"
 !!!

Poor Lucy, he obviously singled her out for Canon fodder knowing fine well it would get everyone talking and boy, is facebook and twitter alight! Its win, win for Mr.Cowells wallet, what does he care what we think of him... as long as we're talking about him.

That reminds me Spanielmad you owe me £1 for the swear box!! two(!!) x 50p (*_*) tsk! tsk!
- By CVL Date 08.11.09 21:49 UTC
But for Simon, it makes no difference which act wins, whether it's one of his own or not, they go on his label regardless.  He's not really looking out for his own, that's all part of the hype for the show, he just wants someone who will make him richer when they're signed.  At the end of the day, he was probably right, neither of the acts tonight were going to win... I am pleased John and Edward have stayed in, they're not the best singers, they won't win, but they are genuinely entertaining and I would be disappointed if they weren't in it.  I feel sorry for Lucie, as she does have a great voice, but definitely not got the 'X factor'.  Can't wait for next week now :-)
