Could someone remind me of the ages for the initial puppy vaccinations - when they can mix with other dogs etc....
Thanks
Bella

Bella,
Depends very much on the vet you use, best to phone them

Just as a guide, we have been told by our vet 10 weeks then 12 weeks, but you then have to wait a further two weeks before they are fully covered, therefore able to mix with other dogs. However, our breeder is having one of the pups vaccinated (sp) at 8 weeks, then the owner will have her done again at 10 and 12 weeks. She says this is because when vets vaccinate earlier, the dose is lower. But as Anne says, it does vary greatly from vet to vet, so give yours a call to be sure!

we had our pup vaccinated at 8weeks, then 12 weeks, then the pup was allowed out at 13 weeks, then he had another at 16 weeks. oh and don't forget to have a booster every year. visit your vet he/she will advise you more.

8 weeks then 10 weeks at my practice, the pups can then socialise from 11 weeks onwards. Although, my practice say after the initial vaccination you can introduce your pup to older vaccinated dogs just don't put it on the ground.
The thing is, I have oder dogs too and after they have been out on a walk obviously they are carrying "germs" and puppy will sniff them, so you can only protect them from so-much.
