If 2 people live at different addresses?

however you agree it to work, best to have everything in writing.

No problems if you trust the person.  Mines a totally different thing though as mum and I are in partnership so everything continues to go to my mum's address rather than mine as of course when the partnership started that's where I lived.

I have a partnership with a friend at a different address we split it so my address for post and hers for telephone contact.

Who shows the dog - do you take it in turns, would it be good or bad for the dog having different handlers?
- By Brainless [gb] Date 28.10.09 14:06 UTC
As said before it all depends on what you agree/want and to soem extent on the dog.

I owned a dog in a four way partenership and had him to stay with me on occasions, handled him when needed at teh odd show, but he waslooked after and now owned permanently by anotehr partner with whom he lived ful time.

I dealt with the financial side of things collecting and dispersing the dosh, boy does it make you realise how much a dog being imported and shown costs!

You need to sit down and agree every last thing and get it signed, but every partnership will be different..

Who is going to handle the dog at shows?  If one of you is going to take the dog, that person will need the passes sent to them.  Also there is the benching question to consider?

Also there is the benching question to consider? and what is that?

At large shows there are benches for the dogs and a numbered bench is allocated to each exhibit based on owners or handlers surname.

There's a picture of a benched dog here: http://www.barbelka.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/_wp_generated/wp21125ec7.jpg

They are required to be secured with a benching chain, some can be seen here: http://www.k9centre.co.uk/products.php?cat=302

I looked on the link, how does the bench chain work?

My dog is in partnership, his other owner registered him with the KC at her address and he is registered with her surname first in the partnership so I get benched next to her dogs at shows.  With regards to show passes I just put my address on the show entries and they come to me.  Any KC stuff, for instance his stud book number gets posted to his other owner.

One end with the trigger hook attaches to the dogs collar and the other end passes through a ring or slot on the bench and the trigger hook is then hooked onto one of the rings depending on how short you need to make the chain to keep the dog from getting hung up or trying to get off the bench.
