im asking for a friend........her girl could be possably 19 day in whelp ? she said she saw a ting of green disscharge over the weekend so she been to the vets this morning ,she was worried about pyro ,so the vet scaned her girl and said could be a start of a infection ? so gave her antibiotics but said no sign of pups ? i thought 19 days would be to early to see anything plus she dont know how good this vet is at scaning .....also her bitch didnt mate till day 34 ,i thought thats to late ?? this would be her 2nd litter but friend said she mated at day 15 last time .....thanksx

day 34?   I wouldn't say that she's pregnant personally!

I wouldn't have thought day 34 would produce pups either. However I have known bitches (well one anyway!) on the verge of pyo mate and tie even when NOT in season.

thanks for that ...thats what i said to her ...i was worried about pyo too !!! glad she went to vets ,hope the antibiotics work and no other treatment needed ,im sure she is only 3 1/2 and 1 of her good show girls .

I have a bitch that has had pyo twice and both times was mated with the best matings Ive seen. She would stand (and be mated) from day 1 to 28 and the male would be going mad all that time too! The first time she had antibiotics and was fine but the second time she was very ill and was spayed. She was my best bitch and I had everyone wanting pups from her. She was only 2. With permission from the Kennel Club I still show her and she has since won 4 Rcc's.

Pups would of been great but still having my babe is even better!!!!!

I hope the bitch is ok.

ive been talking with my friend and shes worked it out wrong ,her bitch mated day 25 not 34 ....she took her girl to the vets witch was day 19 after mating vet did a scan because she was worried about pyo ....so her girl has taken her tabs from the vets (safe if she is in whelp)....do you think its worth her getting her girl scaned again next week ???
today she is day 28 !! she said shes not been eating but has had alittle food tonight (but not her normal food) she keeps refusing to eat that sort lol ...shes become differnt more slow and lazy ,she said she just wants to sit by her side allday :) ....so do you think she would be wasting her time and money to get another scan done ??? do you think day 25 is too late for her to have pups????? xx

Is 19 days after mating not far too early to pick anything up on scan?  I know my girl was done at day 25 and they wernt even sure then if they'd be able to see anything but they did.
Your friends girl sounds exactly the same as my girl did and she also ended up on antibiotics and safely whelped 7 healthy puppies at the weekend :-)  I know a lot of phantoms act the same but I suppose she's going to keep wondering until she has another scan.
