I was reading another thread, but cant find it now, about showing bitches that had been spayed. Some one (sorry cant remember their name, brain not functioning today :) ) said something about castrated males can be shown but generally dont do very well! I was just wondering why? surely the dangly bits cant make that much of a difference! or is it where dogs keep their brains too!!! :) :) Sarah

The trouble is the KC who have not got their act together, on the one hand they say that judges should ignore an accept the fact that a dog is castrated and on the other says that judges should judge to the breed standard all of which say that males should have two apparently normal testicles fully descended into the scrotum. So it does not help the judge much, which instruction should the judge follow. As we are told to assess the dog against the standard we do and will continue to penalise the dogs without testiicles.

Edit: Yes it is where dog keep their brains but that is not the problem it is because if a dog does not have both testicles in the scrotum they should not be used to breed from and there for have a fault. Now if you remove the testicles you have no way of knowing if the dog was correct in the first place, of course, you can no longer breed from him but it does affect any prodgeny he may have sired or the use of his relatives.
