I visited a vet with a problem with my dog and then found she had told another client who repeated what she had said on another forum. Is this the norm? I would have thought it would have been out of her jurisdiction to do this. I am not happy to think she talked to a client who was visiting and who she knew I knew.

I would have been fuiming had that been me. I think the same confidentiality applies to vets as it does to GP's etc.
That is what I thought but did not want to say anything until I was sure.
I know she has spoken to me about other clients and I was uncomfortable with this too.
Thanks for answering.
There were shared issues of patient confidentiality. Like doctors, veterinary surgeons have a duty of confidentiality to their clients, but it is not absolute.Source:

Thank you Otterhound, very interesting. I shall look into it I think, it may stop it happeneing with others as it's not nice. I will change my vet and say why.
Love your dog BTW
