I hope I'm not tempting fate by posting this but just wanted to say that I am finally getting somewhere with Buddy and his problem (pulling on the lead). I have gone back to using the halti and I'm feeding him small pieces of sausage when he walks nicely beside me. Because he was so bad before I could never reward him with food or praise as he just never got it right. But the halti has meant that he began to be in the right place (close to my leg) a bit more often so I was able to give him the food and tell him how good he was. It has taken a lot of time and patience but I can see that things are clicking into place and each walk has just got better and better.

No doubt we'll still have the occasional lapse but for anyone else struggling with a 'puller' don't give up hope ! :) I truly never thought I would get to the stage where I have to look down to see if he's still on the end of the lead ! :D I also can't believe what a difference this progress has made to my feelings towards him. I loved him before but now I really like him as well :)

Good for you Joyce ;)
It is horrible when you don't 'like 'them and when you don't look forward to the walk ,we're still using the Halti with Murph but sometimes we dare to take it off
It's slow progress, but it's progress :D
Liz :)

Thanks, Anne and Liz, for your encouragement. I hope to get to the stage where I'll be able to leave the halti off like you are doing, Liz. It sounds as if you're doing really well with Murph. :)

Oooooh not that well Joyce :D ,Steve takes the halti off I tend to keep it on as a safety net anyway incase he decides to dash off somewhere !!!
We've had some good days so maybe theres hope on the horizon :)

Aren't Halti's marvellous?! I'm putting the designer on my christmas card list immediately. Without them, I'd have been dragged all over England by now...
