need help with muy ess dogs movement. took him to skc (may) and although he did well in his critique his movement was said to be 'unsettled'. i havent been to another show yet as i though he needed to mature a bit. taking him to an open showin november to ger bac into the swing of things before crufts. he has matured beautifully although his movement is still quite unsettled. his hocks look quite loose when moving in a straight line, seem to swing out or something. been told that with exercise this will improve and also if he settles down. been practising but unsure of the best way to get him moving nice and straight. any advice?

road walking , hillwalking tightens up the back end.

My boy had this issue as a youngster, I found he didnt tighten up until I started running or biking daily with him trotting in front on his harness.  I also took him to the chiropractor and she found his pelvis was out which meant he wasnt working the right muscles in his legs which made his movement look wobbley.

Its always worth getting a chiropractor to take a look, its amazing what a difference a small tweak can make.

If he's adult now then lots and lots of exercise, as has already been said road walking at a steady trot (maybe beside a bike?) and running up steep hills are both good for improving movement.
