Yeh we all love summer but don't you think there's something about Autumn and the impending Winter that exciting :)
Just think...... all those big gravy dinners... big thick home made soups with fresh home-made crusty bread dripping a lovely glaze of butter into your bowl,
big dumplings in lovely gloopy stews, tender beef in a slow cooked casserole with crispy oven baked spuds in olive oil and black pepper,
big roast dinners with sprouts ARGHHHH the dreaded veg, hot nose dripping home made curries with naan and lime pickle (not typically English I agree)
the wood burner on and the washer going 19 to the dozen to keep the dogs in clean bedding, oh and the delicate aroma of freshly groomed dog with a hint of rain, mud and fox poo :)
OH happy Winter days

And there's scraping the car every morning in the freezing cold, getting up and leaving the house in the dark and coming home in the dark (oh yeah, and scraping the car again when you come home to the train station); and did I mention the cold? :)

What about the gorgeous Autumn colours, the trees at the moment are fabulous - all shades from deep green through gold, orange and bright scarlet. The dogs love running and rolling in the drifts of fallen leaves (must remember to take camera out on walks to get some pics!) Then there is the special Autumn smell in the air - sort of wood smoke, grass and something a bit peaty? Of course, not forgetting Crumbles for pudding! Pick the blackberries when out walking and come home for a delicious (very fattening) pud.

i love the autumn with pretty colours on the trees etc but i really hate the wet days when the dogs get dirty and smelly and dirt gets walked into the house.
don't really mind the cold as long as it doesn't rain and i do start getting excited about christmas , sad but true.
I love things about all the seasons - just don't like short days and long dark nights. :(
Just cooking an old fashioned rice pudding in the slow cooker! :) :)
I'm not a summer fan. I love warm spring days when the daffs and primroses are out. But really I am more at home during Autumn/Winter. theres nothing like lighting a fire at night and closing the curtains. Except for the next morning when you have to get the ash out :(

Nope hate the thought of winter. I think I saw five days of sun this year, or let's say was out in that number and not working! Do love the colours of autumn though.

I do quite like seeing the wild and stormy sea - all boiling and crashing over the sea wall (from our panoramic windows) on the seafront.
All of us inside and warm and cosy by the fire.
It will help that we had a lovely new central heating boiler put in in July :-) Looking forward to starting it up soon.

Oh WestCoast tell me how to make rice pudding in a slow cooker. Just love rice pudding
A knob of butter, 1 pint of milk, 2oz sugar, 2oz pudding rice. Few drops of vanilla essence and a little grated nutmeg. That's it until the rice absorbs the milk. Enjoy. :)
