Topic Dog Boards / Health / Hip scoring Essex Area

Hello i am hoping someone could point me in the right direction....I am after a good vet that is experienced in positioning when it comes to hip scoring. Ideally around the Essex area but we would be more than happy to travel to get the best possible expertise.

Also with all of your experience does the sedation or G.A make a huge difference in results - I am obviously aware of what is better for my dogs, but i wondered if anyone had had not as sufficient results with G.A??

Thank you in advance.

Jessica

I am taking my girls to a lady called Marilin. Shes just outside of Southampton, its £90 inc grading. Sedation so no full GA. she has been recomended to me my countless amount of people and i'm off down there on the 11th.

01329 230052 but just as a heads up.. dont bother leaving a message she never gets back to you but just keep calling, office hours only though. You will get though eventually.

i think i will also call this lady as southampton isnt too far from me

Im worried about my retriever as someone said she looks like she has bad muscle wastage on her back legs so is there any other tests that i can get done for her??

Riajayne if your golden has problems, it would be better for your vet to take xrays - if there is a problem they will be able to refer you to a specialist.  Hip scoring is not used to diagnose problems.

The vet said by looking at her he cant see a problem but a retriever breeder told me there was so didnt know which way to turn

She is - and you get a very good idea of what score to expect.  She is very experienced and very busy!

Had my aussie x-rayed by Marilyn she is very good. We had a brilliant result. This was the first time I had a dog sedated and he recovered very quickly and would certainly use her again.
