Topic Other Boards / Foo / Flowers in season for wedding

I'm currently sifting through gazzillions of images of wedding flowers, centrepieces etc but I can't seem to find anywhere that lets me know what flowers will be in season & therefore cheaper to have in Sept.

I had originally wanted Calla Lillies but after seeing the cost of them >gulp< quickly changed my mind! I'm now thinking of going quite simple & having gerberas & white roses - what do you think?

I'm trying to arrange consultations with florists but a lot seem to want me to wait until closer to the time but I want an idea about colours before I buy my dress & my bridesmaids, plus I need to find out if what I'm after is feasible with our budget.

Can anyone help?

Depends upon what your colour scheme is/what your budget is.

Calla lilies are lovely - and you can get away with just carrying two or three - with bridesmaides/flower girls with one - at no 2 son's wedding, bride carried these and looked lovely.

I'll try and find a picture for you!

My colour scheme is teal & I've seen some great pictures with hot pink gerberas handtied which I thought were great.  As for budget I haven't got a clue but have allowed £500 in our budget planner - is this realistic??

Seasonal flowers for Autumn

Here is another lovely site for information about colour palettes, budget, style of bouquet and types of flower available for your wedding day.

I had my wedding bouquet pressed, mounted on a piece of the same silk my dress was made from, and framed.  If you want to do that make sure you use the kind of flowers that will look good dry.
