Also as noted on the entry form for LKA that an extra charge of £1.00 for each dog entered online after the 14th October! Whats the point of that not noticed any other shows doing this

Lots of shows do that if you enter past a certain date.
Most of the shows do it and in some cases its more than just a £1.

just looked at LKA, i was going to enter 3 dogs but at £24.00 each and the parking i have now decided to go to a local open show instead, i can not justify paying that amount for parking on top of an entrie fee of £72.00 thats with out a catalouge, plus if done on line were you do all the work for them an extra charge.
They have lost my entry this year, and i would have liked to support both breed judges of my chosen breeds

I think the car parking is out of their control and set by the NEC rather than LKA? I could be wrong but I'm sure I was once told that.

That is so.

The car parking isnt, ive been to a few events at the NEC where the car parking is free, when they hire the hall if car parking was to be free the hall hire is dearer.
TBH, if you entered before the close of entry, there would be no extra charge. The horse racing take late entries, up to a week before, this is at a grossley over inflated price, £1000 entry normally, 100,000 the week before. I can see the dog show entries becoming a sliding scale in the future
i,ve also thought the same
i,m not being ripped off any more
lka lost my entry of 2 this year
and midland counties also lost my entry
if more people said no
they would have to look at their prices
i,ve been to nec for events and not paid for parking
seems dog showing is getting more of a rip off every day
look at the parking for darlington, plus other this year.
£10 if you did not book in advance
i know some one who did not show for a year
saved the cash and had a luxury holiday instead
hi, i have entered several champ shows this year and i have to say that the lka is the first to put on the online charge, especially seeing as it is the same at the postal closing date (postmark). so if your posted entry arrives two days after postmark date then you are out of pocket for entering online.

No LKA is actually following the lead of Birmingham National which started this extra charge for online entry after the postal closing date two years ago. They were followed a year later by SKC so a trend that may well become the norm unfortunately.
