Topic Dog Boards / Visitors Questions / About Japanese Spitz
- By guest [us] Date 07.10.01 01:04 UTC
I am in need of a good companion that is excellent with young children! I have looked up some information, and so far, Japanese Spitz is the number one choice for our family. But, many sites that I look up do not have Japanese Spitz as a breed, so I want to get some more info on Japanese Spitz.
Whoever can answer my questions about this breed please Email me at alisonlin90@yahoo.com . Thank you! ~Alison

Welcome to the forum Alison.

Have you contacted the breed club? They may will be able to advise you and may even have some info that they can send to you.

JS Club. Mrs.Dyer on 01452 720594.

I don't know how far from London you are, but can recommend a trip to Discover Dogs at Earls Court on 3rd/4th November. You would be able to meet first hand some dogs and their owners and ask as many questions as you would like to about the breed. There will also be representatives of every breed of dog recognised by the Kennel Club. Also many stands, demo's etc etc etc.

If you are in the Midlands a visit to the Nordic show, which is on Saturday 24th November, at the sports Connection, at Ryton on Dunsmore near Coventry should make an interesting day out. It is the one show when all the spitz breeds are together. There are japanese Spitz classes scheduled, and judging starts at 10:30. There is the larger size of German Spitz which come in a myriad of colours as well as white, which might be worth comparing for suitability.
