Went to Tesco's in Stockport this morning & was watching a Buzzard circling above the car park first one i have seen in the town centre nice to see. :-) :-)

i'm pretty lucky as theirs a few where i live but i still get excited when i watch one looking for it's next meal.
Im always surprised at the size our's bred again this year, we have a nest in our woods(not caged perish the thought)

its a pretty bizarre place to see one....never been there but would imagine stockports a fairly big place? Are you sure it was a buzzard.....or even that it was a wild one? theres a lot of complete plonkers aquirring BOP these days:( and doing crazy things like taking them for a fly intowns andparks :(

stockport is a busy town, however like liverpool its actually quite green and on the outskirts rural

Hi Sam yes it was a Buzzard been taking interest in them for a few years they have been encroaching ( 8 miles or so ) Stockport for a while ( Sam if you do get round here the Pennine Hounds hunt not to far from here foot pack )
As the 'buzzard flies' Stockport isn't far at all from some great hunting ground and there are clear green routes around that area too, flanking the motorways and connecting the golf courses.
Buzzards are the most common bird of prey in the UK but when we first moved to Cheshire in 1989 they were still comparatively few even in the best of territory. By the time we left 4 years ago they were certainly much more obvious and I'd see them every few days. Now we are in Somerset we see more buzzards than robins and we have a family group that will hunt from our trees.
If someone was flying captive birds then you'll often see wild birds coming in for a look. Perhaps your supermarket buzzard was just being nosy! :)
