I realise this sounds pretty sick, but can a dog have wet dreams?
We have a 17 week old flatcoat retriever. For the last two mornings in a row we have come down to him in the morning to find a small patch of gooey orangey-yellow liquid near to his bed. It is much thicker than urine, but certainly not poo.
We can't think of what it may be except a wet dream. Does anyone know if these are possible in puppies (or dogs in general)?
Many thanks
Rachel and Alfie

Sounds like bile.
My pup (now 2yrs) used to be sick if his meals were a bit late - this was just bile so sounds a bit like you're describing. Morning was always worse and he actually still does it from time to time.
With regards to the wet dreams bit - some sort of emittance is not uncommon I believe, but not as a regular nightime occurrence. My lad would often have a small amount of greenish stuff but not in the quantities I imagine from your description. I cannot remember when it started and when it stopped but he certainly grew out of it ages ago.
HTH :) Dogs are fun aren't they...

Not uncommon for dogs to bring up a little bile after an empty stomach for some hours.
A small biscuit before bed might help.
Semen is very similar in colour and consistency to Pantene shampoo.

Does he have any residue of this on him anywhere?

I'm fairly sure Dexter used to 'wet dream', but he would have clear crustiness on his belly, so not as you're describing - I reckon the others are right... but just thought I'd mention it, in case anyone's interested :-o

I do have a 5 month male puppy who does go right to the 'action shot' at the end when playing and then gives me heart failure with it all fully out in glorious technicolour.
Oh the joys....... :-)

I keep telling my husband to sort him out :-)

yes they can have wet dreams, we had a bullmastiff that used to have them, but it was a clearish sticky mess.the colour you describe does sound like bile, one of our girls brings some up in the night usually when theyve just had a season, and it is orange and slightly thick like you describe.hope this helps, roy.
Sounds like the urine that gets trapped in The foreskin it then drips on the floor, it's like a greeny colour and smells. But my dogs actually ejaculated in his sleep yes lol! Only twice that I have noticed and Iet out a screetch which wakes him up, I still have to wipe it up. It has it's own smell does that stuff and takes more than a few rinses to get it off.
sigh, my DDb has also had 2 wet dreams... Not pleasant at all. He must have been having a great time

Never had this experience with my male the first male I have ever had but now I know why I would rather have bitches maybe I understand them better 'cos I am one LOl
Oh no have just washed my hair in pantene yukky !
