I work in an independent pet shop and this week we received a letter from Nutro UK.
They are ceasing UK distribution as of the 25th September.
It didn't say why but I would imagine it has someting to do with the drop in sales.
It's a shame because it has been sold successfully in this country for years, I guess they will concentrate on the US market now :(
Just thought I should mention it in case there are any Nutro buyers on the board.

I changed my dogs to Nutro last year around this time with devastating effects. I quickly noticed my dogs drank far more than on their previous kibble. In fact, my older dog became a concern to the point I asked my vet for a blood test which showed he was in renal failure :( As I had to change his diet, I typed in Nutro + kidney in an attempt to find out if they produced a renal diet. Horror of horror....I read story after story of kidney failure. I had all 3 dogs tested and they all showed signs of impaired kidney function.

All came off Nutro promptly and back on to Skinners. 6 weeks later a retest and my 2 younger dogs had normal results. Sadly, my 14 year old (although vastly improved results) maintained impaired function results.

I will never know whether the nutro contributed but it seems a heck of a coincidence.

Oh no!!

We moved Ruby onto it about two months ago and her coat has never looked better!

Back to the drawing board soon then I guess......:-(

Nutro's no better or worse than many other foods out there - just average, which is probably why sales have gone down!
You'll soon find an alternative, there's plenty out there

I gave up Nutro when they had their original sourcing and delivery problems 18 months ago.  I think they had been taken over by Mars (?).  I know a few other owners that also changed supplier at that time.

We were very happy with them but after the takeover, and once delivery problems had been sorted,  I recall some people said the quality wasn't the same...

We moved to AG with no ill effects

I use to use it as my breeder did so left my dogs on it, but after a few years delivery was never on time, shelves were empty in the shops and i had to keep using something else while waiting, excuse was paperwork at the docks, so moved totally to burns, but now on the raw so all happy

Oh I know that, our pup came to us on Pro Plan and is thriving on it, some dogs do well on a food more so than others though and Nutro just seemed to suit Ruby :-)
